Lost a friend today. Official cause of death was " Cirrhosis (sp?) of the liver due to chronic alcoholism". Goddamn. This was a cheerful, wonderful girl that just went down the wrong road, I guess. Let's all just be careful please. And share some stories; make me feel better...:(

I'm so sorry for your loss, sweetie. *hugs*
:(
I was an alcoholic once.. well, technically I still am, but I've been in recovery for 10 months.. My doctor said that had I continued to drink, I would have a pretty good chance of developing something like that.
Again, I'm so sorry to hear about this.. I wish there was something I could do to make you feel better.. I hope my story didn't upset you more.. Please take care.

Sorry to hear that hitman. Always so sad when people go early and for reasons that seem so unnecessary. I doubt that anyone can say anything to make you feel better but hang in there cuz time does heal.

a buddy of mine told me a story about how he had a 2 yr hang over. when he would do nothing but drink for 2 yrs straight. so basically worked like this.

drunk. and have a hang over and then drink again to get drunk again during the hang over and basically constantly drink to stay temporarily hydrated. well the moral of the story is. he got really messed up from this and then afterwards he no longer had the urge to drink again probably because he had to actually figure out what to do with his life and make something of it.

i guess moving onto a lil mary jane everynow and then probably changed the habits from drunkeness to the need for munchies.

Thanks for the hug Alex. I probably deserved the spit wad. If it wasn't so far from here to there we'd have already met. Ever been to South Padre Island? (12 shooter? Damn).

Not yet. I plan to soon though. Probably about 5 years. I was there is May for a little fishing. It's just like no place else. I too love the beach. My idea of a great, relaxing day is to watch the sun come up over the Gulf, lay in the sun til lunch, have lunch sent to my lounge chair by the pool at the Raddison, go for a walk on the beach and check out the talent, take in the crab races at the Raddison bar, listen to Michael Lafferty sing on the deck and watch the sun set over the Laguna Madre. I can almost smell the salt spray. Damn, I'm cold.

Hola Hit Man,
Alcoholism is a bad "syndrome". And just so you know, there is NOTHING that you could have done to redirect that course of demise. That you loved her and her knowing that (which Im sure she did) is all that matters now. Acknowledge the loss yes, but love the living now and let them know.
