I am Canadian.
Is the consensus in Vancouver that you still need to add to the team to be a cup contender. We keep hearing about potential trades and of course, you will improve the team if you can. Just wondering if the Vancouverites have faith in the current line-up??

If the Canucks trade Schneider...they truly are a bunch of low life, wannabe executives....

They should be willing to get rid of Luongo and get nothing in return!!!!

He can veto any trade cant he? Where would he be agreeable to going and what can they get from them.

Please do trade his ass, screw the Cup finals, he nearly blew a gold medal game iirc!

The current line-up is not going to bring home the cup.

St. Louis have 2 hot goalies right now in Elliot and Halak so I cant see why they would want schneider. I know Elliot is near the top statistically and after a slow start Halak is back to form so maybe we would be getting one of their goalies in return. Stupid move it they do it because the canucks are going to need schneider in the playoffs if Luongo has his typical meltdown

the lack of canucks/nhl knowledge on this board is shocking, but i guess this is a hooker review board not the canucks forum.

This is what i heard on Hockey Tonight TSN, don't kill the messanger dude:p
I'm not.
Altho, i saw steve simmons also and he actually just threw it out there as something the teams should get done since tbl needs a goalie,
but we need another finesse forward like another hole in the head.
plus we have no cap space
plus he's 36 yrs old
plus he's signed for 3 more years at $5.6 per
plus we need a strong backup for the playoffs
plus we should be able to get more for the top goalie prospect in the nhl

don't need Marty St Louis and won't happen.
what is sorely lacking is a bruiser type forward
that can play on 3rd or 4th line with knuckle power.

imo, this team is good enough to represent the West
in the SC with a close nod to Det and Chi.

absofuckinglutely!

When the playoffs come and the zebras swallow their whistles it means jack shit that you have the number one power play during the regular season.

Bruins played smashmouth hockey all the way to a trophy. No reason why we can't load up with a few tough but skilled players and do the same thing this year.

Gillis would be committing professional suicide if he made that trade and Schneids turned out to be the #1 goalie in the NHL. St Louis is on the downward curve of his career now.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
That rumour is just plain stupid!
I really wonder where these so called experts (put a suit on any lameass sportswriter out there and put them on TV and all of the sudden they're a hockey expert) get their info.
I haven't really followed the Canucks this year with the Jets returning but I did the last few years with the Moose being their AHL affiliate. Vancouver needs a small forward like St. Louis like I need a case of herpes and if they did they certainly shouldn't have to pay for him with Schneider. Guys like St. Louis (who I agree is on the downward side of his career) are invisible when the playoffs come and power plays go way down and the room to skate becomes non-existant.
Is the day when they ahve to trade Schneider coming? Yes. He's too good to sit on the bench because they ahve to play Luongo and he's gonna get tired of that real soon. But not for St.Louis.

The latest latest rumor has Schneider going to Atlanta for a bag of pucks, two pylons and the mascot for the Braves - Homer the Brave. You heard it here first on Perb folks...
