I think it's more this was someone's daughter, sister, friend, lover etc. not just a sex worker. kinda cheapens her life if that's how they portray her.

It's like saying, "It was just an elementary teacher that was killed today, not a doctor."
As if what we do somehow constitutes who and what we ARE, and the measure of our 'worth.'
I'm guessing this is in response to Angela's comment. I think she just meant that it is a sad affair, whomever or whatever she was. It's sad that it comes down to 'was' when portraying a person's life upon death. I know you didn't mean anything by that AA, it just can be read in different context.

i think its a general feeling in society,
that if a women has sex for money that it some how lessons her value.
its like a young virgin female is the most precious thing coveted prized right,
and a women that sleeps around not so much
and a women who sleeps with any one for a few bucks what is she.
that is the way society looks at it,
i pay my sp and i like her like her alot
i have spent most of my time with two women in this,
and i respect the hell out of both of them
and like and care for both of them alot.
and they have both given me alot, in different ways
so im not saying that is how i see sps ok,
but that is the way old school society sees sex trade workers,

I think post Pickton, people tend to focus on the "sex trade worker" part as a "do we have another serial killer loose?" and not an indictment of her life. We don't want a repeat of that abysmal investigation - police have to take these murders more seriously if for no other reason that they will look like bumbling fools in the media if they don't.

The two murders are unrelated. The woman found in N.Van was killed by her POS husband. (CTV News)
Carla was also a human being. Such a tragic occurrance. She was really young. I just don't understand what would possess someone to do such things to fellow human beings. I never will.

Just...sad...all the way around. That NV body creeped me out quite a bit, as that park was my old stomping grounds 
Seriously, it's a huge area for kids to play in... 2 soccer fields, a playground and a little water park. What kind of little kid needs to see a corpse? That's beyond twisted.
