In all fairness, it wouldn't possibly hurt to inquire with the mother who was recommended. It's up to the woman and child to decide how long to nurse for. I personally nursed my firstborn until he was 18 months old.
(*I'd also like to add, a lactating woman can keep the milk production going well past the nursing phase)
I also said possibly hurt, because not all women may not be open to lactophilia. Most will advertise if they are. If not advertised, one may find it rather disrespectful and distasteful for you inquiring.
