While I certainly have no reason to support her, everyone must keep in mind that she, and you, and me, all deserve a fair and impartial trial before all of you can declare her guilty of the charges she is facing. Period. She has continued to commit the exact same crimes whole out on bail.
She has already killed one guy, and shown no remorse.
How could a judge allow her out? This is what brings the justice system into disrepute.
In the US she would be a three strikes winner.
slights against reporters asideWhile I certainly have no reason to support her, everyone must keep in mind that she, and you, and me, all deserve a fair and impartial trial before all of you can declare her guilty of the charges she is facing. Period.
I'd also like to commend Rumina Daya for being by far the WORST reporter ever employed by Global TV - ranks right up there with CTV's Evan Solomon IMHO.
She is out on bail for killing somebody and commits more offences while on bail. While I certainly have no reason to support her, everyone must keep in mind that she, and you, and me, all deserve a fair and impartial trial before all of you can declare her guilty of the charges she is facing.
Crown has absolute and unreviewable discretion when it comes to staying charges in Canada. Had the *Judge* stayed the charge they would definitely give reasons, but Crown doesn't have that obligation, and can simply email the court registry to say "FYI charge X is stayed, kthxbye" and it's done. Once it's done even a judicial review can't touch it (unstay it)!At a minimum the Crown needs to advise why the charges are being stayed. If there’s a good reason, well say it dammit.
