Is Twitter Making Escorts Celebs?

I just started using Twitter recently and I was surprised to find out that some escorts are already using it to promote themselves and that some even have gained thousands of followers. Here is an interesting take on escort promotion 2.0: http://trentlapinski.com/?p=363 .

That's smart. Don't you have problems with guys being reluctant to pay up front though?

I have a well established stellar reputation and I tell them to read all of my reviews first. A lot of my regulars are Americans whom have business here in B.C. or Alberta.

So they see me here for an appointment or dinner and then electronically deposit the travel funds. I then either meet them at our destination or travel with them. Sometimes it is 50% now and 50% during to assuage any misgivings. I never accept cash in person though unless we are in Canada.

I would never advertise I was travelling to the states, then try and work there. I love hawaii and go often. its just not worth the risk never being able to go back, if I was busted down there.

But yeah - back on topic! As I said to the blogger who wrote that article, I'm not fond of the term cyberhooker. I have a twitter and a blog, I'm no celeb but I do have a decent little following. And I'm no cyberhooker.

I see where you are coming from. That guy probably just uses that vocabulary to stir up more controversy and up his traffic. I'm curious though, do you use Twitter to keep in touch with clientele or to generate new business?
