If you have a Mac, the iPhone is the only way to go. I bought a BB as I was assured it would sync with my Mac. It didn't. Great phone but I wanted to be able to transfer files/music etc. I know a few people who love BB's but are horribly disappointed with the Storm. I loved my Curve 8330 but retired it when a friend spilled his venti caramel concoction all over it and killed it. Bye Bye Blackberry :(

Iphone saves the day!

I moved last week, Telus found a way to screw up my move order, and still have not been able to connect me. This is day 7 without phone or internet. The iphone has a new feature called internet tethering. I can connect to the internet by plugging my iphone to my computer :D

I suggest you keep your BB's in a condom in the future!
For protection of course!

I'm a fan of BB for sure but not so much of the storm. That clicking screen slows u down quite a bit and forces you to HAVE to use two hands to type. I don't know how well the browser is for the iphones, but I suspect its better than those on the berry's. I use internet on my berry but have to limit it to text as opposed to streaming video clips or something

The new iPhone kicks ass. The previous gen iPhone (3G) is processor wise just as fast as the current Blackberry but the new one (3GS) is fast and beats the pants off the Blackberry Storm. Besides, with the BB, you don't have WIFI.

If RIM has the driver for MAC, then BB works on Mac. As I said in other Apple products related threads, Apple is branded. It isn't very portable.

Not true... I have a Blackberry Bold and have been using the WIFI feature for quite a while, there are a few models that offer that feature as well.

But i would agree with the earlier post. Blackberry for work, iPhone for personal use.

You might want to go with Rogers as they are the only ones who use GSM. Bell and Telus use CDMA. The Rogers phone will have a sim card in it. Then, if you unlock the phone, you can use other sim cards - very handy for when you are traveling to other countries. Take the phone with you, switch cards, and you have a number for that country.

Rogers will have the iphone, blackberries, also the Nokia N95 8gb. I am about to get the Nokia, we'll see how it goes.

As far as iphone or BB, the iphone looks like a better phone to me.

Telus goes GSM late this year or early next.

You have been able to tether your BB to a PC for a long time now, like years. On Telus if you have the unlimited Data smartphone plan ($45 a month) you can download a program called Tetherberry (sp?) and put it on your BB and your laptop, and now you have unlimited wireless access anywhere your BB has signal. And it's pretty fast too, much faster than the BB internet browser in my experience.

The Bold has Wifi, the Storm 9500 and 9530 do not. The upcoming Storm 9550 will feature Wifi along with a host of other features which were missing from the 9500 and the 9530.

September is the HSPA rollout for the public. They have already completed the beta testing, and let me tell you 15mb download speeds on a handheld is wicked!

Telus will also at that time offer the iPhone 3Gs....:)

Telus has had a GSM world phone for about a year now. Still does not have the coverage of Rogers, because Rogers has signed agreements with more Baby Bells around the world, but Telus is making inroads. Telus and Bell are expected to have a GSM Network in place by 2010, but expect delays. This is Telus you know.

BB for business and the iphone for playing. IPhone still not business ready for email, attachments etc.. especially if using an Exchange Server. BB Storm is crap, crap, crap, so avoid.

BB's will Synch with Mac's. I have about 20 MacBooks out there and all have BB's that Synch. I use pocketMac ( http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/mac.jsp ) for synching.

Curve is cool, Tour is cool, the new Palm Treo rocks and avoid HTC. Did I mention the Storm was crap :)

True...the BB Bold is a really good unit even though it's an old unit. Now that Apple has the 3.0 firmware for all versions of the iPhone, even some loyal BB users and fanboys are considering switching. In otherwords, the iPhone is no longer a toy or for personal use.

Not Telus, I actually quite dis-like them. I just love Blackberries and have contacts that are able to let me play and "test" things...:)

But yea, blonds would have to rate higher than my BB....Although it does vibrate!

They have had the 8830 for a while now, well over 18 months. I had one, it worked great but was too bulky for me so I switched to my 8330 (Curve) and loved it. Also the lack of camera was annoying!

Curve was my favorite Blackberry.

Tour is nice but doesn't feel "finished" to me, and the lack of features of the 4.7.1.xxx VS the 4.7.0.xxx OS is noticeable. Also I don't like the plastic back cover.

I use the Storm myself, currently running OS 5.0.0.140 at the moment. Was a bit of a hassle as Telus's service books don't support the new data buffering channels of OS 5.0 yet but I hacked it and am now using AT&T service books. After installing that I now have a fully functioning TABBED browser on my BB....:D:D Only thing that sucks is that Facebook isn't supported yet on builds using the new data buffering, so I can't use it. I may downgrade to 4.7.0.151 if I miss Facebook too much...:( But speed wise, I'm just as fast as a iPhone now.

HTC is bad IMHO.

The Palm line is nice but I prefer BB myself...:)

Only time will tell.

Telus's "GSM world phones" only work on the 900/1800 frequencies. But, not every single country uses these frequencies in GSM. So, still useless!

Again, this is changing with the new HSPA rollout set for September...Then it will be a "true" world phone, no GSM and no CDMA...
