I was listening to the radio today and heard there was another laughable Iphone blunder on behalf of an Apple employee. Yet again (this happened with the iphone 4 as well) a drunken employee left his prototype phone in a bar after going out drinking on a weeknight. Already rumors have begun to circulate of an early release of the Iphone 5 due to fear that another company has gotten their hands on the technology.

My first instinct screams marketing ploy, I would guess that higher anticipation of the release date will have more people chomping at the bit to get the phone.. whenever it does hit the shelves (or nearly hit the shelves seeing as how last time stores were just opening the delivery box and handing them out to the long line of salivating phone junkies).. If it wasn't to their benefit why the hell would a company like Microsoft set themselves up to have the exact same emergency they experienced with the last phone?

any thoughts?

it dawned on me recently that at least 2/3 of the banner size ad posters in a skytrain station were for cell phone companies. there's a shitpile of money in that market is all i've got to say
