I’m curious…how are people separating their civilian/at-home lives with their significant other from their hobby life?

if you were to share locations with your significant other, how can you justify staying at a random residential?

or if you avoid that all together, how do you do it?

asking for science.

You could do what my ex did, turn location off and lie about it. If that fails gaslight!

I only turn on location sharing when I need it, then turn it off again. Sure, Google or other apps will find out my location from time to time, but not continuously. I don't like being tracked by anyone or any app.

If you think your SO might suspicious about your whereabouts you may already be in some deep shit, but sometimes the Mrs. just innocently likes to know where you are. Many of us have been there. Turning off the location tracking may raise more questions if you’ve always had it on up to now. If you have a second phone for pooning, which you should, here’s my suggestion.

If you belong to a gym, or golf, or anything that could take a good amount of time to complete, pop by and put your regular phone in a locker on your way to the “residence" in question. A golf game works well for this and many courses have lockers. So do gyms, local pools, rec centres and even some libraries. Pick an activity where you can say the phone is a distraction and tell your SO that your phone will be off and/or in a locker so you don’t disturb other patrons. You can’t swim or go in the sauna / steam room with a phone now can you? And a phone ringing during someones backswing on the golf course is terrible etiquette.

Use the pooning phone to communicate with your side chick.

Good luck.

I never really liked Coldplay anyway so thank god I'm safe in that regard!

I don't know about iOS other than minor dabbling but most Android apps can allow location only when on. Google can have location off even for a period of time that you set- of course a lot of apps no longer work when you do that but if you are on the stick you turn it back on when convenient. I shut off Location History when I set up my google account, and leave it off. So my phone is pretty much secure to the typical users prying eyes trying to find out where I might have been.

Chatted recently with a guy I've known for years had to fire a 25+ year employee who was fucking the company. Got the guy's computer and phone and had the lawyers go through them. iphone16, all the usual hoopla on it, the lawyers spooky dudes in IT turned the phone's contents into a full on searchable data base within an hour of having it in their hands. Texts, whatsapp messages, facetime history, passwords, the whole shitteree. Learning moment for me. These guys can crack any normal phone if they want to, seemingly with little effort.

So if you are careful and as long as your SO isn't a cracker jack techie detective type, I say enjoy the pooning.

Burner phones.

Get a cheap one for about $100, and another $25 for a month of minutes, and there ya go. You're only using the phone to contact a provider, you don't need a fancy phone for anything else.

Depends where you are going, and how far away it is from your usual routine.

As said above, take up a hobby that requires you to go across town? Gym, golfing, painting/sculpting, Warhammer.... Are you a car-guy, looking to buy after-market parts? Just tell the wife/gf/so that you're going to buy a thing for your thing. Why would they question your extra-curicular activities if you come home with the thing you said you were getting?

Even an old friend from college, asks you to drive across town to meet him. Remanence over the old neighbourhood that happens to be where a hooker works....

Get a burner phone and keep in safe place. Any one with enough knowledge can get info off your phone.
Funny thing is why in the movies the actor smashes the phone and chip, and throw them both out the window of the car....
