I can't help it. Now that all the politics threads have been drowned in funny-pic drivel I got the want-me-some-arguin' shakes. Turns out there is a valid reason for a Politics category...to keep serial thread posters busy elsewhere.

There's so much that's fun right now:
George Bush in the same hot water as Karl Rove.

The Veep leading the very same charge into the courtroom.

Tom Delay booked.

Bill Frist investigated for insider trading.

There is a bigger plan afoot Webster and they will all get off.

The first part of the strategy is to delay the trails for another 24 months.

We will be past the 06 elections and more importantly Bush will have 3 Supreme Court judges on the bench. Yes, he will get one more before he leaves.

The GOP will then control the 3rd branch of government as well. The Dems will be relegated to their constant whining about how bad off we are and Halliburton will cheat us out of trillions of dollars. But just to show what goods guys they are they will give us back a few million and we will all be happy.

I do not remember the last time a president and his administration did not get into legal trouble during their term.

Makes a guy want to move to Iran.

Even with that kind of strategy, the current state of investigations, indictments and Iraq have Bush's popularity dropping like a rock, and I get the sense that the more pragmatic or self-centred Republicans are getting ready to drop his cause to save their own skins.

The leak to the New York Daily News seems like a case in point, and Republicans are going nuts passing on rumours of who the next VP (Rice?) or chief of staff (Mehlman?) will be.

I think he'll get one more. But his current nominee was the gate-keeper to Bush, the implication being that if Bush of anybody else in the White House knew about the leak, so did she, and it's not seemly for supreme court justices to be involved in cover-ups. He might have to re-nominate, and if meaningful indictments show up before that time, it's going to be hard to get someone as desirably maniacal in.

Dittman, you're going to encounter passive resistance like you wouldn't believe. I'm going to stand up for myself by doing NOTHING and then do MORE NOTHING when the first NOTHING doesn't work, thus DOUBLING THE NON-STRENGTH of my POTENT INACTION. Outraged letters will be sent to MAGAZINES NOBODY READS. I may even write a folk song that will make people with goatees CLAP POLITELY.

Herb, you ain't Dr "Phil" so don't bother. As for what you "no", it's questionable. Don't you know that George and friends have God on their side? All others in this sinful world are simply devil spawn and deserve to be destroyed. I guess the U.S. God prefers not to transform the devil spawn into the army of God, but hey, he's God and it's his choice.
