Hypertension medications cause delayed ejaculation?

An SP asked me this question today if the medications that I took to control my hypertension were causing me to not finish within an hour usually. To put it into perspective, when I did 2 hour sessions, I still couldn't finish even if my life depended on it. I would always come close, but nothing really pushed me over the edge. My cardiologist tells me that the pills I take have no sexual side effects. I honestly can't tell the difference since its rare for me to finish anyways.

Also, I wasn't able to finish even prior to being diagnosed with hypertension where all of my 2 hour sessions occurred.

I managed to finish a whopping 3 times out of maybe 15 sessions that I was in, so it can be done, and it is possible. I just can't figure out what would be causing me to do this. Even after leaving the little guy alone for well over a week, I figured it would have made me prematurely ejaculate, but obviously not. During the entire session, it was rock solid until time was up.

Im not really ruling out anything yet, and since I will be seeing my cardiologist again pretty soon, ill be asking him about the delayed ejaculation specifically. In the mean time, does anyone with hypertension taking medications know if it caused delayed ejaculation?

I am in my early 20's still, and the medication I am taking are Candesarten and Amlodopine.

Hi a_shy_guy

It sounds like this has been very frustrating for you.

The best person to ask about the medication would be your cardiologist, especially since you will be seeing him soon. It sounds like you are ok with discussing delayed ejaculation with him.

From what you have written it seems like this has been an ongoing problem for you even before you started taking the medication.

It also seems to be a common problem for men. Here is a link to a recent thread were delayed ejaculation was discussed.

After seeing your doctor it may also be helpful seeing a sex counselor. They specialize in this area of sexual health.
