I wouldnt say so much as in software, but you can set your junk mail filters in hotmail to exclusive, therefore the only people in your contact list will have their emails bypass that filter.bannister said:

Just another idea, you might want to get a seperate account for personal/business use.
Ahhhh but do you need a penis enlarger, weight loss treatment, instant credit, need to meet single ladies from your area?, free internet, cooking tips, or have a need to make your pc run faster to compete with NASA? Those were the spam mails I used to get. It got so bad at one time, that I was getting a complex. I mean, how did they know I have a small penis and needed an enlarger. Not only did they try to sell me an enlarger, but they were very persistant. Wait until you get that famous spam email that says "Hi, I'm living in another country. My father was killed by rebels, and left me a fortune. I need to send you millions to manage for me until I get to your country to escape the wrath of the rebels as I fear for my life." That one is my favorite. Every time I get that email, I run to Tim Hortons, buy an extra large tripple/tripple and giggle, knowing an imaginary person is running around in a coffee bean field, ducking and dodging the rebels, because I deleted the email.bannister said:

Getting Rid Of Spam!
The easiest way to get rid of spam is to reach behind to the back of your computer and disconnect the ethernet cable!
If you can't find that just unplug your power cord from the outlet.
This is sure to stop all SPAM!
On a serious note when using programs to stop spam you risk losing mail that you actually want.
There are a few little tricks to avoid getting so much of it, but it really is (for now) a part of life on the net.
