How often do you have last minute cancellations by the SP?

Hi.

I have been in the hobby less than a year but I've experienced more than what seems to be a fair share of last minute cancellations.

These cancellations are mostly apologetic and while sometimes cryptic (family event I can't leave) generally have a good valid reason (some emergency beyond the SP control).

Mind you I only see independent who are board advertisers (not only found on CL).

Last minute is anything from several hours before to 2 min before!

Had it happen when on a business trip to Edmonton (2 hour notice, you can find the story on the "other" board) and here in Vancouver (2 min notice with a repeat).

So, do I have bad luck, is it part of the business nature or are high paid independent SPs less reliable than the rest?

In speaking of SP's in general, DTES SWs can be counted on to make an appointment maybe 25% of the time. The percentage will vary from person to person, though, as some may be reliable for a majority of appointments.

I've found SWs in Thailand to be generally quite reliable and prompt. If they aren't they are history ;

You make appointments with DTES SW's? How does that work, do you pull up in your car and ask if they will be available in 20 minutes once you clean out the Mcdonalds wrappers and coffee cups from the back seat, or tell them to meet you in the back alley behind the garbage dumpster in 5 minutes so you can wet wipe your willy first(I assume you are hygenic), or do you just circle the block and if she's still there on the third round she's made the appointment?

And how did you come up with that 25% anyway? You do keep lists don't you, probably spread sheets and databases too. Then again, it could just be that you saw 4 SW's and one wanted the donation first thus breaking the appointment.

It happens sometimes, and it sucks. The shortest amount of time I've had was 5 minutes...as I was waiting in the damned parking lot.

Not much you can do though dude, just make a mental note to not book again is it really irks you. I think 1 hour notice is reasonable, 5 minutes is kind of WTF?

I can totally understand the frustration and the feeling of unprofessionalism here... I have rarely had to cancel, but there is something I'd like to point out, that men just would not think of in these situations.

We are women. We have regular or irregular cycles that surprise us sometimes.
We are also human. We can come down with a sore throat or stuffy nose.
We are sex workers. Sometimes a session can be overwhelmingly taxing and we can get exhausted or even have physical damage- small tears that make it unsafe to work again until healed.


Are we going to tell you, "I just got my period" .. we likely wont because we know many men are turned off completely by that.
Are we going to say, "I'm sick".. when we don't know if it will go away in one day, and you will not call back for a month?
Are we going to admit, "the client I had sex with this morning had such a huge one, he tore me" .. another turn off.

And yes, we have personal lives too, and sometimes real stuff comes up.
I had two cancellations yesterday.. Thank God, because if they hadn't cancelled I would have had to... I had a big ugly family crisis yesterday and though everything worked out great, I was completely wrapped up in it for most of the day.

So.. I hope this gives you guys food for thought.
I am sure there are ladies who don't have legitimate excuses, no doubt there are.. but there are ladies out there who DO have to cancel, and they do so, so that they can be at their very best for you.

I was just interested to know if I had some bad luck or was it anything else.

Didn't consider all those reasons but now that I think about it, maybe better to have a cancellation than to have a terrible session.

You know what, at the end of the day I can live with being stood up.
What seems more unprofessional is that the SP doesn't follow up later and offers to reschedule.

Considering the guy made plans, groomed, sometimes travelled all the way there I expect that is the minimum.

OMG! Lenny I am sorry most people here can tell you I am a sweetheart and a nice girl. However do you need to mention Thailand in every post. Sorry but quite frankly who cares, you are not in Thailand anymore.

Sorry if i offended you. It does, however, seem that some people here like to
travel {i can't speak for Mr Brown} and do care about pooning in Thailand and
other foreign countries, as this is a regularly repeated topic on PERB over the
years i've been here. Take for example the recent thread title of the "Phillipines"
being discussed here in the Lounge today.

Obviously you must of very much enjoyed your time there and I am happy for you. But enough please.
I had to get the off my chest.

If MrBrown were aski of Thailand girls he would of mentioned it.

It may be that he personally as one individual is not interested in what
i had to say, while some others readers may be. Who really knows? But
from the way his question was worded, about SP's in general, i could
not tell:

The rest. The rest of what? The rest of SP's, evidently. Is it the rest of
all SP's locally, in Vancouver only, in Canada only, in Canada & the USA only,
in the world? Does he travel & poon elsewhere? Again, who really knows?

I can only post info of what i know of, and hope that might be of interest,
or of entertainment value, or of help, to one person.

Again, please accept my apology if i ruffled any feathers. That was not

Could NOT have said that better myself, I've been caught in every single one of those situations and been so (no pun intended) torn about telling the truth to clients if anyone of those situations occur.. I see almost exclusively Indie SP's now and in fact have not been to an MP in pretty much a year.

Anyways, I have never had a cancellation for either Indie SP or MP girls. The Indie girls tend to be very hard workers and put up with a lot, but have always been star performers for me.

Closest I have had was a 15 minute delay due to a travelling Indie SP's phone melting down just before the stores closed. No biggie for me, I just sat on a bench out side the incall and enjoyed the rainstorm that was happening outside the canopy. Actually, gave me a few minutes to get my head together a little bit and relax.

The world is a much too rushed place these days, we all need to slow down and smell the roses.

It seems you've been reading of Hatrick's escapades. I wish he'd write a book. I'm wagering it would sell at least 100 copies via PERB alone. And for my help on it I'll take 10% rights to the first movie.
