Does it count if I hit one. Big German Shepard rang his bell on my front bumper, then he tore off the other way. I was shitting my pants. First and only time I ever hit an animal.

I can still hear him yelping, more than 20 years since I have hit a dog and I can remeber it like yesterday. So damn vivid!!!!

I hear ya, dark rainy night, fairly busy street just a block from my house. I didn't see the dumb dog till he was right there, slammed on the brakes and probably went from 55k's to about 30. I bet that dog needed and Advil like a mo-fo after that!!!

I absolutly HATE the feeling of hitting an animal......have done it too many times and it sucks

Growing up in the city I didn't see too much as far as dead animals on the roads (occasional cat or racoon)

But living in the Okanagan I can't believe the number of deer that get hit on the local roads.

Within a mile of my house there is both a deer & a coyote den. The coyotes are pretty smart you never see them dead on the road but deer??? whole different matter
