Here is something that really bugs me.

I get annoyed by people who contribute nothing but provocative statements and a ton of posts quoting previous posts, with no further elucidation other than LOL, Right on, etc.

I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular. I just ask that you "just say no" to pointless or needlessly annoying posts.

Feel free to agree or not.

You are right Restless, these are the types of posts you are complaining about, but they are in the general discussion section ... which is where they should be.

Too many threads in the review sections are being started that aren't reviews at all and too many other threads that start out as reviews are getting taken over by inane posts. I totally agree with you, if a person doesn't have something of substance to add, they shouldn't hit the reply button.

Restless, I know who/what your taking about and they are made in the review section. It's unforunate, but the Winnipeg review section has become a general discussion section for the Winnipeg people. It can easily start as a review and turn into a general discussion but I think we could all become more aware that if the post does not directly involve a review than we should try and stick to the general discussion area.

I agree. The winnipeg people have tended to use our forum for both SP reviews and general discussion. I know that I tend not to look very often in General Discussion as it seems to be primarily oriented towards Edmonton and Calgary perbites.

and I also don't think that generally this has been a problem. Most people keep a respectful balance between sp reviews and more general interjections. I always find your interventions to be informative and helpful, and the jokes and photos usually tend to relate to the subject matter of the thread. And they always leave me totally cracked up!

The Winnipeg section seems to have grown recently, and there now seem to be fewer SP reviews and more threads that start with "don't you hate it when" or "what do you think about" or "has this ever happened to you". I agree that its time we tried to make more use of the General Discussion forum. IMHO

Maybe if we can get MOD to turn ON the "IMG" in the general area and turn it OFF in the Winnipeg review area and a few of us regulars keep reminding other Winnipeg perbs as often as possible to hit the general area with their posts?
