Dependant on height, as tomcruise pointed out. Size 7/8, for example, is a definitite 'medium' as far as clothing sizes go.

A girl who is a size 6, at a height of about 5'6", probably weighs in the neighbourhood of 120 lbs - but keep in mind however that it does depend how that weight is distributed on a girl's body, and how well-proportioned she is also.

Perhaps the ladies can better advise here.

I don't think there is a right answer for that one...

Perhaps you could ask to see a photo and decide if her build is one you like.

A large boned lady could be pure skin and bones and fit into a six. Or she could have a very small frame and be very fat and flabby and still fit into a six. Or she could be perfectly proportioned and drop dead gorgeous. Size alone doesn't tell you anything for certain. It also doesn't tell you where she is carrying the weight. In general we will state a dress size for one of two reasons. To sound appealing, or to fit our largest part. Not to mention size varies widely among different brands.

For example, I have a very tiny waist, and very large chest. A size 0 skirt will still need to be taken in on the waist 3 or 4 inches. If I buy a dress rather than having it custom made, I need to make sure it fits on the chest - and then I have it taylored over several sessions to have the rest brought in properly. As such, I need a size 18 to fit my chest properly - but I'm only a size 18 in the chest. Very deceiving if you read into either of the numbers on their own.
