Yes, we need to wake up!

Here is a letter I found interesting....

Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America 's true living legends- an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management.. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering." Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

AN OPEN LETTER TO
PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike
any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive
Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no
visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth
growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus
don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned
yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to
publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail..

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America '
crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style
country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system
with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly
capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose
that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of
living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics
against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from
challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both
omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything
you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the
Limbaugh's, Hannity's, O'Reillys and Becks who offer opposing,
conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will
probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Western European governments, the USA and Canada are so in love with their bubble-headed liberalism that they are willing to incorporate Islamofascists within their midsts as long as they can go on believing in their politically correct (false) liberal policies and beliefs. There are current events in Europe, however, which suggest that the respective European countries are coming to their senses, i.e., banning of the burka in France and now Spain, banning of minarets in Switzerland, heightened concerns in France due to the recent riots of Muslim immigrants in Grenoble after police shot a Muslim criminal during a police chase. Concerns in the USA are gradually rising as the nation is becoming increasingly aware of the nurturing of terorists within its midsts. Canada, of course (Toronto 18), is not immune.

I found this kind of funny, when Bush was in office I met very few Americans that admitted to being Republican, let alone voting for him. Now I meet very few Americans that admit to being Democrats or having voted for Obama. Surprisingly enough I have met a lot of Americans that like Palin, but don't want her as President. Also, been meeting a lot of Americans that are afraid of Obama, what he will do to the country. It should be really interesting what plays out after the mid-terms.

When Bush left office - he and his cronies:

* Left the US a trillions of dollars of deficit.
* 500 hundred to 600 HUNDRED THOUSAND Americans were losing their jobs each and every single month.
* One in Eight Americans were losing their homes to foreclosure
* The US was pushing the WORLD economy into a deep recession, and if not acted upon by Obama it could have been a depression of the likes we had not seen since the 1930's.
* A out and out lie about the US involvement in Iraq.

The guy who wrote that letter is a moron.

Furthermore, that "letter" is the biggest pile of garbage I've ever read in my life.

What a crock of shit.

As a proud American, I agree the western world needs to wake up, but not to the bullshit right wing drivel you posted. The " westrern world" has been muckin' in world for a century or more, at the behest of corporations like BP. You can't fight an idea with guns and bombs. If we helped them build roads, schools and hospitals instead of our paternalistic and impearialistic policies, the idea would die on the vine. The problem is that the " corporation" owns the media and the government too, and you have bought in to their propaganda. As long as they keep you scared and angry, you'll go along with their agenda,( and pay the bill).

So whats your excuse for getting all pissy then, is it because the letter is right? ;)
No, the letter is not right. It is just more of the tea-bagger/fox news drivel that half the Americans are eating up. Casting suspicion on Obama for nothing at all (except for the unexpressed racism that I strongly believe is at the root of it).

Obama has been a disappointment for me -- for completely different reasons. He hasn't done what he said he would do to rehabilitate America -- he hasn't pulled out of Iraq, he hasn't closed Guantanamo, he has continued the massive wasteful spending on "homeland security," he has allowed them to get mired even more deeply in an unwinnable war in Afghanistan, he hasn't cleared out the rat bastards from the investment banks or made meaningful financial reform, he accepted a fucked-up watered-down version of health care that took nothing from the profits of the HMOs, drug companies and insurance companies while adding to the public cost, he didn't clear out the useless Republican-appointed pricks that were supposed to monitoring environmental regulations in time to save the Gulf of Mexico.

I would have had respect for him still if he had stood up and fought for what he said he believed in. and told the idiots in his own party and the do-nothing Republicans to STFU, and used the good will he had among young Americans to try and change the system. Instead, he has kept most of the status quo.

Anybody that thinks a good answer is to go back to the Bush politics of fear represented by the tea-bagger idiots is seriously deluded.

As for the original post - the link to the English crank on the video - everything he said is true, to an extent. He has other videos saying much the same thing about Christianity, but doesn't demonize it to the extent he does Islam.

What I find amusing is that Islam haters find nothing inconsistent in bringing up the atrocities committed over its entire 1300-hundred-odd years, but seeing Western "civilization" as being an entirely good thing, despite the even more horrendous acts committed by the Christian church, and by western governments over a similar period of time.

My own experience living among Moslems for two years was that they weren't much different than anybody else I had known -- except perhaps, a view of women that resembled opionion from decades earlier in our society, and a view of hospitality towards foreigners (that did not share their faith) that was well beyond anything I had experienced in my own society.

And Obama and HIS cronies:

* Racked up a bigger debt in the first year than Bush did in his entire 1st or 2nd term in office.

* Had even MORE americans losing their homes to foreclosure

* Bankrupted 100s of banks, resulting in many people losing their savings

* Are making sure that the US is the LAST ONE to come out of the recession, apart from maybe Greece.

* Will kill every living thing in the gulf of mexico

* Will destroy half the beaches in Florida

* Have destroyed the wetlands of Louisiana

* Still haven't done anything about Gitmo

* Are still fighting in Iraq

* Are still fighting in Afghanistan

And for THIS he got a nobel peace prize?

So Hank, we take it that your two-year experience amongst the Muslim population did not include acquainting yourself with any of the Islamofascists (at least that you know of) whose promise of violence never did affect you personally. And other than a two-decade spate of suicide bombings against the western world and towards other Muslims with whom these Islamofascists disagree and the promise that all earthly "Shaheeds" will be rewarded in an afterlife, you state that they are all like the rest of us. Good pseudo-liberal thinking, Hank. Another illustration of how the West will be lost!

Everyone has to get over this false left right paradigm which has plagued the American political system for decades. Main St. has got to take the power back from Wall St., it's that simple. Unless that happens soon they are heading for depression in the next few years, or sooner, the likes they have never seen in their history. You can argue until you are blue in the face if it has been done intentionally, or the empire collapsing from it's own weight of excesses, but as sure as god made little green apples it will happen.

So "Peace Guy", you're comparing the acts of other religious zealots, terrible as they have been, with the intent on the part of Islamofascists to dominate the Mideast, North Africa, western Europe and the USA? And the means of domination is to frighten, aggress, cajole, and do violence against both governmental bodies and citizens in the most cowardly way possible known as terrorism, mainly against innocents? Would you wish to rethink your conclusions which emanate from a political relativism in which all acts, no matter how deplorable, are equal?
