Can't say I'm a fan and I'll be the first to say the kid has made some really dumb decisions in the past couple of years but all these people upset because he's touched the Stanley Cup need to get a grip.

Newsflash! It is a superstition and a show of respect among professional hockey players not to touch the cup.
All kinds of average people touch the Stanley Cup every day. When Anaheim won it and Dustin Penner had it in Winnipeg for part of a day a bunch of guys played a game of pick up at a local rink for it. The winners all gathered for the group photo and drank beer out of it just like the pro's.
When Johnathon Toews brought it to Winnipeg in 2010 people were kissing it, hoisting it, taking pictures of babies in it. I even have a picture of my daughter and I with it.
Lord Stanley's cup has been on boats, to the cottage, in strip clubs, dropped, lost, drank out of, eaten out of. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the odd player didn't do his SO with her bent over the damn thing!
