Girls at the Gym

Allright, so the gym I go to is pretty big. It is split into two sides; the coed side and the girls only side. The girls only side is massive, almost half the whole facility.

Is it just me, or do any other guys find girls working out incredibly distracting? There are tons of beautiful women here and a lot of them choose to work out in the coed side. It's one thing to come to the gym in baggy t shirts and pants, but a lot of the girls are working out in tiny booty shorts, etc. All this hotness is messing up my work out!

Another thing is i notice a lot of these girls checking me out while im working out, they shoot me cute little smiles and this also messes up my work out. Instead of concentrating on exercises, my mind is now consumed with girls. Look here ladies, im there to stay in shape, not be ogled like a piece of meat!

It's not fair, if you girls are allowed to have an exclusive side to the gym, then we should too.. (I'm only half joking..haha). Ladies, i'm curious about how you feel about the whole gym dynamic. Do you prefer the ladies only side, or are you cool with working out infront of men...

Interesting post, I would have to agree with you, I think whether we're trying to or not because of working out, getting sweaty, adrenalin pumping its only going to be natural to get aroused around each other. The pheromones are everywhere.
Like you, there are those people who truly go there to have a focused work out, it is much easier without the animalistic temptations.
What about a men's only club for yourself? You may still have booty shorts to deal with but they'd be male.. ?

Lots of girls and boys aren't as focused as you and use the gym as a social meeting place and place to hook-up with singles and show off. That's where the $$ is for the club so I doubt they'd change their policies. And yes you would have all the middle aged woman up in arms if you boys started parading you're sweaty bods on "their" side.. And you don't wanna get the menopausal wrath after you.. lol.

I was at Goals Gym at the West Edmonton Mall last week. I walk out of the men's locker room into the Gym and here is this dark hair vixen with a face like Kim Kardashian and the most toned fit body with the biggest fake DDD's I have seen on a gal in a long time... She was by the fountain getting water and some guy was talking to her. When she saw me our eyes locked and she gave me this very friendly and flirty smile... I wondered if she was a stripper or an Escort? Normally girls like that are stuck up snobs... I watched her work out a bit and man... she had the hottest little heart shape ass on her... I try and stay focused on just working out... But if I wasn't such a wimp I should have at least tried to talk to her... She was on the stare climber and I could have went on the one next to her but nooo... In stead like a puts that I am I went on the tred mill just in front of the stair climber... Then I went back to the change room and when I walked out she was gone. Ohh well, I go to that Gym all the time... Maybe I'll see her again?

I've always looked at the gym as a place to work out and leave in as quick a time as possible. Sure, there are hot ladies, but chances (??) are that they are there to get their exercise on and leave, not be hit up by a bunch of dudes.

Ha ha we're different creatures aren't we? When i use to go to the boxing club back in my hometown,we use to have girls up there all the time oggling us.I use to think it was cute, but then the coach would hit you up side the head & bring you back to reality!

maybe 10 years ago you could meet people at the gym but now everyone is hooked up with mp3 players and texting so it's impossible.

Its not the place to go hit on girls. Most wont like it, if they dont know you, and bother them.
But if you go all the time, you usually go around the same time each day, same days a week.
Its always the same people, so you get to know them over time. I have met a couple women that way.

However some guys also almost case the joint.
At my gym this really hot girl, in these incredible outfits goes on the treadmill for about an hour, very early Sundays.
I work out then, and its almost dead. Now, 3-5 guys on the treadmills before she arrives, waiting.

i have a question some what related to this why do guy's don't take the class that are offered at the gym?. i take class it's a change from doing the same thing. it really rare to see another guy taking a class and the class are by far not easy. any gals what do you think when you see a guy in class?

My gym has male and female sides as well, but not by design. All the girls work out with the exercise balls and mats. All the guys are in the free weights. The coed section is the machine/cardio area. lol

The women are pretty mixed in my gym as well. They run the gamut from fat and ugly to hot and distracting.

I had an argument with an older guy a while ago, well I pissed him off. How??
I was waiting for a machine he was working on and I used to know him from before. His got runny mouth. I wanted to use the chin up bar where he was standing and taking his 20 min break lol
Talks to everybody and gossips all the time. He started talking to me that he haven't seen me for long time and how things......blah blah.......I kindly told him that he should just shut up and get back to his workout, I'm running late.
He got pissed off at me and he said, well then I won't be talking to you either.
I said thank you I appreciated
I don't mind a small talk here and there but when you are not concentrating to your workout and make the other person wait, that's rude.
I usually get super hyper in the gym so I need to move fast from one exercise to the other.

I work out at my office (put a gym in the basement so I can work out at lunch, etc.) but I used to hate those guys. I too had a few at the gym I used to go to get pissed off at me becasue they'd want to start a conversation and I'd basically tell them I wasn't there to socialize. They'd seem to spend all of their time standing around talking to people like the gym was some kind of social gatherring. I could arrive, work out for an hour, shower, change and I'd be walking out and they were still on the same piece of equipment.

I agree, I usually don't wear makeup, my hair is a mess and I'm all sweaty. If a guy tried to pick me up it would feel awkward in between catching breaths and wiping sweat off my brow!

there's also much to be said for finding you attractive even in 'gym look' that women seem to think makes them less attractive. if he likes you in that state where you think you don't look your best, imagine his reaction when you're dressed to the nines.

I work out at the YMCA. I'm a believer in what the "Y" stands for and the activities it actually sponsors. Due to knee problems, the only specifically cardio exercise that I can manage without pain (glucosmine sulphate plus condriatin has helped significantly recently) is the step machine. In front of these machines (they're in a line) are two other lines of other types of equipment. Whenever I can, I find an attractive woman who is working out in front of me on one of the other machines. I can watch her move, imagine what she looks like up front and fantasize about what she may be like. I never approach personally as I am quite old and it would be inappropriate but these women do perform a service (unknowingly) for me. It is amazing how quickly a boring exercise can go with one of those sweeties moving in rhythmn just in front of me.

I would never try to pick up a girl at the gym... There are TONS of hot girls at my gym, and im curious as to why theyd use the coed side as opposed to the womens only side.

the hot tub after the workout might be a different story. met a beautiful 22 year old out here on a co-op the other day. chatted for a bit with her. then she said hi today up in the gym and we chatted again later in the hot tub for awhile. the opportunity would be there for me to take her out as she is new to the city and doesn't know anyone here but i'm not in the situation to do so at the moment, plus i'm 36 so the age gap is probably too big, even though i look like i'm in my late 20's. anyways my point being meeting someone in the gym setting is somewhat possible and not the horrible thing everyone is making it out as. just have to read the situation.
