Fort Lauderdale - Activities

Will have a few days in Fort Lauderdale prior to a cruise and am looking for fun things to do:

- General activities, sites to see

- Does anyone know of an equivalent to Lucy/Carly/Angelique? A good, reasonably priced SP would also be of interest.

Perbites are not stay-at-home types, so I expect there may be a few useful suggestions fothcoming. PM's are fine.

Lauderdale by the Sea is a nice little strip of smaller hotels and beach bars and restaurants and chintzy shops and a pier. Small area but is the closest to a sort-of kind-of tacky tropical beach strip feel that you will find in the immediate vicinity of Ft. Lauderdale. There are a couple bars that are fully open to the sidewalk, just a block from the water, kinda neat, a couple seedier clubs a few blocks up. Or rent a car and go to South Beach. The girls work the Washington Avenue strip and are easy to spot, and South Beach along Ocean Drive is a unique spot that should be seen at some point. Have a beer around the outdoor pool at the Clevelander, a pina coloda at Mangos while the girls dance on the bar, and if you're cool, pretty and rich, pay the cover charge and hang around Nikki Beach - maybe see Paris Hilton snorting coke off Kim Kardashian's ass.

Tripadvisor has a shitload of things to do in Lauderdale proper, depends what you're into. Bunch of beach-related activities, some museums, shopping, airboat ride, typical florida activities.

Sorry but I never hobbied in FL, despite the name. so no int on that. Always down there with an SO.

If you enjoy strip clubs take $500 and go to Scarlett's. It's a ways away (say 20 miles) but worth it. Good times!

Thanks guys. Did the Tripadvisor bit - certainly some interesting things to do (mostly with SO). The Scarlett's website suggests that might be an interesting visit with friction lap dances - but not cheap - but what is?

Still open to more intriguing suggestions.
