and yes as all the notes above.... its all about keeping it clean.. and nails short....... plus Im sure we all know on here that when it comes to condoms one size does not fit all... but im pretty sure that even lifestyles will fit all the fingers on here !!!!! 
Actually women can catch BV from just about anything, virgins get it too. So it's not just the one guy's fault...it's from bacteria and mixing of pH levels from her environment and lifestyle. Hygiene could also be a factor...and wearing very tight clothing/thongs too often (need to let it breathe

There could be many different reasons. Here are just some that come to mind:since i like to do my cunnilingus with a lot of g-spot massage added in, i'm always curious why certain ladies advertise digits as a no-no. if the guy showers first, there shouldn't be a problem with cleanliness, so i"m wondering why?

Yep that's so true. It's too bad because so many factors are beyond a woman's control even though she may try so hard to keep it fresh. That being said, one woman might be extremely sensitive to any bacteria while another can roll around in the mud naked and never have a problem. I think it might be related to the amount of "good bacteria" in her vagina.... some women just have an abundance of it and others have none because in an effort to keep clean, they've douched and stripped it all out or they simply haven't had enough incremental exposure over a long enough period of time to acclimatize it and generate good bacteria.
that's all good in theory, but how many women will actually outright verbally tell a guy where and how they like it (present company excepted i'm sure angie)?
