I like words, particularly written. I like it when people write in such a way that it's interesting. When given a choice, I prefer to write out my thoughts, rather than speak my thoughts.

Read the New Yorker sometime. This may require a dictionary by your side.

Today I read a word that got my attention; contumacious (extra points to the person who figures out where the word was found, although this is not an endorsement, just a linguistic discovery)...

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=contumacious

Do you have any interesting words to share, favourites, or surprise words that you recently discovered?

Clue: this site led me to the word contumacious

First to come to mind is

omnipotent

For two reasons.

#1 - People use it and they cannot pronounce
#2 - People usually misplace the word in a sentence making it look they actually have NO idea what the word means.

Sounds like it should be three words not one.
Etiological psychosomatic interference

I tend not to be impressed by the use of complicated nouns, especially ones that are just compound words used in biology or medicine.

Hmm... The only word I can think of worth mentioning that I use in common speech is discombobulated.

one could print that page, take it to a cocktail party and soon have an entire corner to him/herself,lol.
some good stuff in there.

I believe the all-purpose F word could be a noun,verb,adjective&adverb,depending on usage&context?

also, "words" that aren't but get used,eg "irregardless"
in print we'll see "alot" which s/b "a lot"

fun with language.

Good for you, BadgerJohn, for chiming in with floccinaucinihilipilification. That's the one I was going to offer.

Well, a favourite phrase in MY house has long been "The fucking fucker's fucking fucked!", so....yes, it can.

(..and I consider unpossible a PERFECTLY cromulent word.)
cromulent is not in my Webster's,but from your sentence I take it to mean something like "acceptable" or "sensible"

The word motherfucker is a noun, it describes a person place or thing .. don't be scared of the word motherfucker.

Only Bernie Mac and Samuel L Jackson could pull this off!
