Donation abbreviations

Ive been reading the reviews and there was a question that I have. I have been noticing that the donations were displayed with $$ or .# being on the Toronto board (terb) where it is listed as the actual amount, I am unfamiliar with the abbreviations. For example in terb, we would write $80 for eighty dollars. Maybe I'm just too new at this. Can anyone help?

80 here would be .80 and $ is used as a hundred. So 120 would be $.20and 220 would be $$.20

Each twenty dollar bill is called a Jade Canoe, so $100 would be 5 JCs.
If you really wanted to avoid confusion you could say one hundred dollars.
