do any of the ladies enjoy surfing?

....I was so excited to say yes....and then saw the Tofino part. I've tried it there, and I can't get down with the wetsuit needed at all times thing. Tofino is too cold for this girl, even in the summer. Power to you if you're able to withstand the frigid temperatures!
Haha! This is me too! I stuck with it for awhile, but I think I overthink what I'm doing and cause myself to stay at 5-10 foot waves without progressing. I also find it really intimidating to go when there are a lot of other, better surfers out there, because they can be not nice about you getting in their way. I get overly sensitive and discouraged
Tofino definitely isn't the tropics but there is something special about surfing in the cold water. You feel like you have accomplished something after riding for a few hours and it seems very Canadian to not let the elements slow you down. I remember December surfing in light snowfall with a girlfriend a few years ago - it was pretty amazing. Hoping for good waves this coming week!
Surfing is so amazing. I've been going on and off since I was a kid - my dad taught me when I was like 6 in Tofino - and every time I get back into it I fall in love all over again. I was recently lucky enough so go surfing in Hawaii and oh my it was wonderful. Definitely no wet suit needed there! I'm no professional, but I think I have the potential to be really good if I was able to get out more often.
I'm trying to get up to Tofino at the end of the month but pretty much everywhere I look is booked, and air bnb (my go-to vacation rental website) has been failing me as well. I even got a new film camera a couple days ago to take some amazing pictures of the scenery! If I can't find somewhere to stay I may just kick it hippy style and rent one of the camper vans when I get up there.

Heading out tomorrow - wave reports look good and the weather seems pretty typical for tofino this time of year. Meeting one of the ladies from this board up there on Thursday so will let everyone know how it goes!
