watched the deportation of Haleh Sahba from Canada as her family and friends looked on ...

this deportation is probably a death sentence for this woman.

the absolute hypocracy of the Canadian Parliament to stand for a moment's silence in respect of the women killed in Montreal and to then stand by and watch this woman tossed out of this country in such a calous and inhumane manner is absolutely disgusting.

What else can you expect from politicians, seems as soon as these people get elected their brains go dead and logic escapes them....Copps great flag program..13 million bucks and I dont know one person who got a "free" flag.
The list just grows from year to year. watch, we have only seen the tip of the current bunches waste, you cant even believe their forcasts of budget surplus, and whose fucking money is it anyway.

NO REFUNDS.......for poor taxpayers

I gather that she's not a Romanian stripper? :)

But seriously, can someone post a link to Haleh Sahba's story?

wolfie,

i only saw the report on the news and almost upchucked my dinner over it ... it is not only unconscionable that they deport her in such a callous manner, but she is also leaving the country without a passport ...

meanwhile the list of criminals who get to stay in this country because they have the wealth they stole from their own countries lets them buy time here ...

ugh!

I saw this item on the news.
This is the most upsetting and disturbing story that I remember in a long time. This woman should be allowed to stay in Canada, with the only family she has!
I though being Canadian actually meant something, but this is embarissing.
I hope no harm comes to her, and Canadian immigration officials must be held accountable if anything does.
Need to find a way to keep this story in the headlines.

Especially someone who hasn't cost the social system a dime. If she would have arrived on a boat there wouldn't be any question.

Great point LG. They get the warm and fuzzys about "those poor women", I suspect mostly for the photo op it presents.

Meanwhile, that woman has been sent off to a fate that will make a quick bullet in the head look pretty damn good.

The timing is perfect, I hope journalist get all over it.

OK.....let me see if I have this straight.....the rat bastards at immigration are kicking this woman out of the country (and back to fucking iran of all places) at the same time they're holding a full blown hearing for the ass clown deserter from the US Army who's claimed refugee status because he was too cowardly to fulfill his obligation to serve his country

fuck this pisses me off
So --- you want it both ways – you want the Government of Canada to increase measures to deal with terrorism --- but you want to have allowance for “special circumstances”.

What’s your measure of “special circumstances” for someone who fraudulently presented themselves to the government? That they have resident family in Canada, that perhaps they have established local ties, that perhaps they have been self-sustaining, that ---

About this refugee claim – I’ve searched – I can’t seem to find anything that substantiates the claims being made about this woman’s previous life in Iran… you know, the sort of background detail the Immigration rat bastards would take into consideration. Anyone?

The Army guy – too cowardly? Obligation to his country? --- thought it was an all volunteer army?

So she entered our country illegally. Perhaps we should be the country putting a bullet in her head. 8) Bullets cost less then the beaurocracy involved in kicking people out of the country.

As for the deserter, send him back to the States and let them waste a bullet on this loser. What person wouldn't want to go to Iraq and be the first on their block with a confirmed kill?

We should be proud that Canada is a place to try to get into. The point being, as messed up as Canada has become, it's still a better choice than most other places in the world.

For this poor woman, this shows how infected our country has become with petty bureaucrats. We don’t kick out immigrant drug dealers because they run and hide after they appeal the 7th or 8th deportation. Instead we boot out people who are providing to the country as a whole.

I just don’t understand why the stripper and drug dealers stay and the people who contribute don’t. I don’t understand the street racers here in Vancouver who have, killed people and are deported and don’t leave. It Makes me sad to be a part of this society that would honour the women killed in Montreal and allow another woman to be killed. Is this because she will not die here in Canada?

The problem lies in each of us, to allow political correctness to take over our lives and to vilify people those who have strong opinions. We are so worried about being politically correct that we become paralyzed and allow the small minority of people with the loudest voices take all the victories. Why happy holidays? Instead of Merry Christmas? To be correct. To save someone’s feelings. I celebrate Chinese New Years, and am of Scottish decent. I would not be bothered if my work mates celebrated Hanukah.

Canada we should celebrate our differences, not try to paint the entire country beige. We are diverse, lets not continue to alienate each other by not accepting this. To do this will cause racial unrest and ignorance.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. What apart from showing up and not hiding out did this lady do wrong? Why are we so afraid to break the rules when it is the right thing to do. Call your local MP and stamp our feet. Call the talk shows. Write letters, but to shake our heads and say how sad it is, and to do nothing is worse than the pretty bureaucrats that sent her home. We knew it was wrong and did nothing.

Steps off soap box,
And calls my MP.
