if you like to manipulate how your Windows screen looks ... you should try to play with Windows Blinds http://www.wincustomize.com/IndexSkins.aspx.
I did it for quite a while on previous systems ....

OK, silly question but how does one print off their desktop to be able to post it?

Shift+PrintScr buttons
go to a print program ( even Window's Paint )
Ctrl+V ( or Edit-Paste on Menu )

should do the trick
