Hardly ever watch baseball. But that was pretty cool.
I wonder how much that big dude that caught the ball will end up getting.

:clap2:

I agree. Baseball is too boring sports to me, but reaching 300 is very impressive.

Fucker pulled a Gretzky - not only got the 3000, but did it with a home run, went 5 for 5 and batted in the winning run.

I'm not a Yankees fan but kudos to Derek Jeter for achieving this momentous milestone in baseball. :thumb:

3000 Hits, MLB All-Star, World Series with the Yankees, future Hall of Fame and of course Minka Kelly. Lucky dude. :) :)

Jeter was told to stop dating hot chics, or else he will never get to 3000 hits.

He's up there with all the Yankee greats like Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, etc. Plus, he's the first Yankee to have 3,000 hits. Way to go! :thumb:

I dont like the deal they gave the kid that got the ball.
They should have allowed him time to think.

I think there's an Oprah storyline to it. Classy Jeter feels for the kid who is carrying a burdening debt amounting to a couple hundred thousand from student loans and surprisingly pays for it and HAPPY ENDING. :) :)

I just hope whatever course this kid took at St. Lawrence University for that amount of student loan was truly worth it. :)

From what I understand he sells cellphones at a Kiosk at the mall.

The gave him front row seats for 1 game in the Legends section.
Then the rest of the season in their gold section.
The Yankees say those are worth $44,000 not including playoffs, which he will also get.

This kid live about an hour and a half away from the stadium.
So hopefully he will sell some of those. He bought his tickets for that game on stubhub, so at least he has an account.
