So 12 years 104.4 million. Guy is one good hit away from retirement.
As an actuary I would love to see how they are insuring this.

Good deal? Bad? What say you

well, retirement to coaching at least

i guess they've got him tied up for that role so he will continue to generate excitement for the franchise. presumably there's an out clause of some sort to minimize the cap hit

If Crosby stays relatively healthy(meaning no career ending injuries) then it is a damn good deal for the Penguins....Crosby wants to make decent money but he does not make unreasonable demands like saying he should be the highest paid player in the NHL....crybabies like Gretzky/Lemieux were like that....when Lindross sighned his big entry-level deal a whole bunch of people whined and complained for more money and it was like dominoes being knocked over throughout the NHL which eventually lead to the lockout. The
last time Crosby signed a contract he took a lesser amount so that the club could also be assured of signing Malkin....and it applies again as Crosby could have asked for more and gotten it.The Penguins have got it all and year after year they are a legit cup contender and Crosby definatly wants the break Gretzky's record for Stanley Cups.

You also have to consider the money he makes for endorsements ;)

I agree...if I was the penguins agree to pay him per game...or no deal. If Crosby won't sign...then let the little faggot walk...

And just how many players in the history of the NHL sport a Stanlel Cup knuckle duster(as in a row of 4 rings on one hand) other than Gretzky's crew from when he played for the Oilers.

I just hope he stays healthy. The league pays lip service to dealing with the head shots but clearly we have had many over the past few years. Crosby missed over a 100 games and his next one may be the last one.

Most of them have 5...
Exactly... The Moose has 6 of them!!
I always forget about the Islanders... safe to say no team will ever win 4 in a row again, especially with the way the teams are so evenly matched these days....

I'm curious as to who has won Stanley Cups with the most teams?i.e.Al Arbour back in the day was on cup-winners in Det,Chi&Tor

Claude Lemieux with Mtl,NJ,&Col..I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them, other readers likely can.
