I have an attractive friend who was appraoched by someone who claims he works for Playboy magazine. She's really excited and only focussed on having this potential contract. No modelling experience and doesn't have a picture portfolio. I would imagine there would be a lot of competition even with famous girls such as WWE Divas, Ashley Dupree, etc., etc. It's almost like winning a lottery as the chances are slim I think. She wants to fly to the States to pursue this but I don't know what her chances are and don't want to tell her forget it because you never know....

Get her (or do it yourself) to contact Playboy with his information. If he is legit, they should know who he is and at least this puts it into some perspective whether she has a shot or not of working for the company. Playboy, though, is not just print anymore. Their online presence is quite vast and the number of girls they shoot and show is equally vast. She might simply end up online then in the magazine.
While it was possibly somebody with a contact at Playboy, I doubt it was somebody that could offer a contract. I did some work with the former Playboy rep in Vancouver, Ken Honey, but he's no longer around. Currently Playboy is represented by Penny Phang, as in Penny Phang Enterprises Inc. If somebody approached your girlfriend, then in order to be legit it would have had to be somebody connected to this company.
