Define stopped. Frozen, turned off and back in Windows or Mac desktop, or computer lock up?

Things are only a problem if you allow them to be.

MD let me ask you this. Are you using like a PII, or PIII, are you rendering video, or letting the computer do some really CPU intensive shit on it's own and then the screensaver kicks in and you like have little fishies trying to swim around on the screen while the computer is trying to calculate pi to the 50,000th decimal??

If your answer is kinda yes, then your comps is just to slow. Get more memory or buy a faster processor.

Hey Diver,

I think your problem is simple to solve. Are you saying that your screen goes black rather than playing the screensaver?

If so, simply right click on your desktop and select propertie. go to your screensaver tab and click it.

Under your screensaver options you'll probably see "Monitor Power" click power and select "never" to indicate that you don't want your monitor to power down.

I hope this helps.

Also possibly an older screen saver incompatible with a newer operating system. I've had similar problems with some of the fancier OpenGL Win 2000 screen savers in XP.
