Wasn't Columbo of Sri Lanka hit hard by the series of waves?
If you look at the following map ( http://www.dagbladet.no/nyheter/2004/12/27/418633.html ), Columbo is on the side of the island opposide from where the waves originated.
Is it because the whole island is below sea level that caused so much damage?
