Cheapest solution for a real phone number?

Some SPs don't allow messages from apps like Textnow. What's the most economical way to get a "real" number?

$50 phone plus Freedom Mobile's $99 per year plan?*

What do you guys use?

I’m using a pay as you go, $15 a month, unlimited text. I made a post about this in the general chat a year ago.

7-11 Speakout pay as you go. Use an old phone you likely have laying around. Get their sim and prepaid voucher (all in cash at a 7-11 store) and only pay for the texts and voice you use, other than a monthly fee that gets deducted of a couple of bucks. The voucher os good for 1 year and if you don’t use it much $50 will easily last the year.

Note that it’s only good for text and voice though, no data for those prices but it gets you a real number to use for bookings.

Yeah, this is the way to go. Any unlocked phone that will take a sim card will do.
