Cell phone usage in tokyo

Hi guys, need some help here....heading over to Japan for a couple of weeks in December...what is the best way to use your cell phone....i need to be able to do business from there and use my existing cell # any thoughts would be greatly appreciated....

make sure your phone supports wcdma 800/1700/2100 or cdma2000 technology. the most common one is 2100. yes, 3g only in japan and south korea.
