blue jays..pretty smart birds

during the spring and summer I always keep a bowl
of water out on the deck, in case the neighbours cat
is thirsty. Now the water in it is frozen. I have noticed
that a blue jay will drop in and peck at the ice and swallow
the ice chips. Kind of entertaining while you are frittering away
the moments that make up a dull day

That would totally keep me entertained all day!

In similar news, I live near a little pond here in Victoria. When it freezes over, the silly ducks fly down and try to land gracefully in the pond as they usually would, but they end up slipping, losing their footing and falling comically on their little feathered bums!

Now if ony the toronto blue jays baseball team were
that smart and good. They could use some smarts.
