Boddington's is strange stuff, at least the variety that comes in a "draughtflow" can that mixes air with the beer. After I drank one, I felt queasy, and later learned that a friend actually threw up after drinking one. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

It's happened to me, but only after drinking about 10 of the things!!!

The widget ... the little device inside the can that mixes the air with beer is the greatest invention known to mankind. Every can of beer sold in the U.K. has one ... specifically to produce a head so that you can pretend you're in the pub!!! Go figure ... why not just stroll down to the pub and get the real thing.

Dude....welcome back.....glad to see you posting again!

p.s. LOVE the pick of Jean!

As for beer.....I'm not a real hardcore beer drinker...will have a Corona when out with the boys at the ballet

I tried making beer once and it didn't turn out well.....followed the directions to the letter, made sure everything was clean and disinfected.....by the time it made it to the bottling stage it tasted like it had passed through a skunks asshole

Thanks, HiFi. Been busy creating an alternate reality. Glad to see you're still around.....

Unless you're extremely bored making your own beer is generally a waste of time and yields results similar to yours. Better to splurge and sample the numerous available brews. Nothing is better on a hot summer day than sitting down to relax with one...or two...... :)

Of course there are consequences to overindulgence.
It may be useful to commit this mantra to memory:

There's an outstanding brewpub in Regina called Bushwakker's. They make about 20 different beers, ales, porters and stouts in house, and sell them in 2-litre plastic bottles for $10.00, tax included. Whenever I'm in Regina, I return to Winnipeg with at least 20 of these bottles. Their Pale Ale is great - a lovely bitter.

I also love McNally's ale from Big Rock in Calgary. It's a dark, Irish style ale - great stuff!
