I keep seeing ads for electric razors that are specifically designed for shaving the balls and shaft.

I usually use a depilatory cream, but recently really burned an area of my balls, and it's stayed tender, so I'm now a little leary of continuing that route.

Has anyone tried these razors, or know if they really do the job? Not so much for balls, but shaft.

I got the Manscaped Lawnmower 5.0 on the Amazon Black Friday deals. It’s the best all round shaver I’ve owned and it’s equally suitable for face, head and your junk. No burns or nicks and the small physical size of the razor makes shaving your balls etc super easy. All the attachments work great for what they’re suited for so no complaints.

Full retail at London Drugs was crazy so I waited for the Black Friday deals and Amazons was almost $70 off.

I personally have been nicked a few times and I’m wary of using a electric razor without a trim guard… I had the best luck with lots of shaving cream/gel and an gillette mach 3 (shave with the grain then against for the second round), sometimes I go a bit crazy and shave the ass hole hair too.

Get sugared - the hair comes back finer and more sparse. No better way to go. Couple minutes of discomfort while being done but no nicks or skin sensitivity afterwards.

Might be worth a try. Does hair need to be long to do it, and how long does it last?

Who does it? I'd be worried about getting an erection if a woman is working on my intimate parts. Be even more worried if a man is doing it.

Mach 5 out of the shower anyway you want should do it . I never nicked anything so far in over a decade since I first started .

The trick is to stretch the skin to get all the angles around the hard to reach areas .

I think as long as the hair is as long as a grain of rice it'll work. I find it's good for 4 to 6 weeks and as I've said it comes back finer and thinner.

I’ve tried the Manscaped trimmers and all seem to be good until I take the guard off, then I always get nicked. So they’re fine to het things nice and short, but not smooth.

I had the same experience with a depilatory cream that the OP did, so I started using a Braun foil shaver to get balls and shaft smooth. It takes some patience but things get very smooth, so worth the effort IMO.

had the same issues with the manscaped trimmers. good until you take the guard off. nicked a couple times so stopped using it. Saw the One Blade system and works great on the shaft and other sensitive areas. reasonably priced too. the laser route is expensive ($2k for 10 sessions) but probably best results.

I'm sure there are other threads on this. I tried a few things. MAC3 Razor blade is what works best for me.

Sounds crazy, but I pluck them one by one. Tedious, a little painful but nice and smooth for weeks. I will say I enjoy process. Ie) prepping vegetables, organizing, etc
