Baby at the Theatre

Was watching blood diamond when i noticed a couple with a baby carriage. I see people bring their dogs into malls,supermarket etc but when the hell did people start bringing babies into movie theatres?

I have a number of dear friends who have spawned and as much as I love them all I refuse to go to the movies with them. With the way those bastards bend you over and dry fuck you in the ass with the cost of admission and their $4.00 bottle of water I'll be damned if I'm going to sit there and hear some little diapered bambino wail and cry.

Sure parents need a break from the kids but for god sakes get a sitter

It's the folks with kids, not YOU who should be renting the dvd and staying home, LAG. Like GRAVITAS discussed, if the adults need an outing they should shell out for a sitter and take some "grown up time." Babies at a movie theatre are no more appropriate than a forty year old pushing aside a toddler to use the playground swings!

personally if its an age appropriate one and the child is well behaved I dont see any problem with it, however if otherwise and the child starts screaming or acting out.. and having a shit fit... then they do not belong in there!! There are theaters for mothers, and children, and times set just for them!! If the child acts out, the parent should remove them right away, and if they dont I would talk to them.. because that is just plain rude

Or talk to the manager! Either they go or I get my money back, I will not sit through a movie that I pay to see while some selfish bitch and her little brat spoil it for everyone else.
WHY do parents think everyone else is going to think their little darling is the cutest thing in the world? WHY do they think everyone else should put up with them?

I completely understand the restaurant thing too!!

when u are sitting down to eat dinner the last thing many people want to hear is a child crying or screaming.... in that case the parent should take their child to the bathroom... it just plain consideration for all the other people in the restaurant who want to enjoy a quiet dinner.... children need to be taught proper table manners!!! as well as how to behave at certain social events...

I hate seeing the little bastards in the restaurants I go to. I don't go to Denny's or any other 'Family' establishment of horrors and thus they shouldn't be going to 'adult' restaurants. In fact, I make it clear to the Host, Maitre'd, whomever, that I do not want to be seated near any kid otherwise I will leave.

And what about those 'insects' who bring their droppings with them to a Broadway theatre or ballet? Paying $200 bucks for a ticket to be enraged by some wailing puddle of flesh is ... damn, where's my gun!

If I start screaming in a restaurant, kicking the chairs, and blowing raspberries and spit at the folks in the next booth I will be told to leave.

Just because the offender is 3 instead of 30 shouldn't make any difference.

Like most people, I have no problem with children at restaurants, movies, the symphony etc. I DO have a problem when the behaviour of others interferes with the enjoyment of me and everyone else. Being a child simply means your parents are responsible for your behaviour, not that bad behaviour is acceptable.

Not necessarily true. Lots of the parents of these little monsters are too damn lazy and too inconsiderate of others to make an effort to discipline their kids in public (or at home, come to that). When they're in a restaurant with their entire brood, they're certainly not first time parents, they're people who shouldn't ever have become parents in the first place.

Yes, but my observation is based on couples I've known who have kid #1 who becomes the centre of their world, gets spoiled, and is allowed to run amock in the restaurant, theatre, the church, the plane, etc. And because the couple thinks their firstborn is so cute they automatically assume that the rest of the world shares their feelings. But once more kids arrive then the parents are like been-there-done-that and begin to either a) exert a bit more control on their brood and they finally decide to hire caretaking help, or b) don't give a shit no more.
