"Average Joe" really isn't "Average Joe"

First of all, I haven't watched the show but have read about it and seen some of the contestants. Unfortunately the show does not represent the average male. Most of these guys are WAY below-average and make more than the average income. The show should incorporate more blue-collars guys, less overweight people, less geeks, and guys that make $35-45K a year. It seems like the majority of the contestants make way more than that. That's all I want to say on this subject.

Reality shows are inherently unrealistic

If reality shows REALLY showed what an 'average' person's life was like, no one would want to watch. Kind of like when you hear of people walking past a crime in progress with blind eyes, yet running to the scene of a car accident - we all want a different view of our own reality.

Case in point - I have an average life, with an average wife. When I want to sample unreality, I visit with one of my fave SP's to feel like I'm king of the world. At least for 59 mins.

Average Joe is more like a leper colony than a single bar, at least none that I'd been to in the good ol' days. You simply can't have that many freaks in one spot without someone freaking out. It's like Lord of the Flies all over again. Here Piggy, Piggy...

i think they just called it Average Joe because it sounds more politically correct than calling it. Beauty and the BEast (which is already used up) or Revenge of the Nerds: in Reality TV,
Geeks and Girls? From Stummped to Stud ? the list could go on.

overall despite it being far from real it is funny seeing the girl getting suckered in. they probably told her that it was a new Bachelor show with a model type guy and they showed her pics to entice her.

tRUE.. the thing that is interesting is yeah ..you can see it ..versus a bacholer show .. think about it ... like 25 10/10 woman going for one 10/10 guy ? most of them would say whatever they can get any guy they wanted ..without going thru all that crap and potential humilation ..whereas ... 25 6/10 guys going for 1 10/10 ... you could see it .... look how we chase after Victoria Lee.. ... you dont see 25 SP's chasing after the Hamster
