What do you think of these photos of Mika Tan? I think they are some very sexy stylish shots - particularly the first two. The third one is more for the boys.

Ladies, you should really hire a good photographer for your promo shots. It makes all the difference in the world.

It's more about proper makeup and photo finishing than it is actually photography.

Check the after-effects lens flare all over her skin in that pic, (especially her face how everything is sort of flared out with contrast) and the pro makeup job.

Lot's of girls at MAC moonlight as freelance makeup artists, and I know a bunch of pro makeup artists in Vancouver working for various film companies/magazines that make all the difference, and don't charge insane amounts.

Take any girl you would consider 'average' by conventional means, get her a $100 sukis haircut, some pro makeup, and good angle shots/finishing and they're instant supermodels

That's a good point about the make-up and hair... getting made-up by a first class stylist seems to really make a huge difference.

The thing about Mika Tan though, she doesn't really have a great body, but she makes up for it by "making love" to the camera with her eyes.

In that first photo I posted, you can actually see, if you look closely at it, that her body isn't that great. She used to be a bit chubby and now she has lost most of that, but isn't that toned. The thing is, I probably looked at that photo 10 times before I started to notice that, you attention is drawn right to her eyes and held there. So in that sense, having good face and eye make-up is huge.

Here's another one where you can see that her body isn't great, but her eyes really draw you in:
