As an outsider I can positively say NO. I see it everywhere I go in Vancouver. But, mostly the difference I notice is in the behavior of the teenagers in public palces. What a pleasant change for me.
Anyway, not to get off the topic, perhaps many of you are guilty of being too polite when it comes to the hobby.
Two examples:
First, when one of you makes an appointment with a lady of a certain description and when the door opens and the person behind the door does not come close to fitting the advertised description, why would you even consider staying? To stay not only encourages the lady to continue false advertising, but it will ruin it for the next guy who is mis-led by the lie and is put into the same situation as you were. Sure, we all fudge a little on our age, but most of the ladies here are quite honest in their advertising. Why reward the few who simply try to take advantage of a guy who is thinking with the wrong brain? If you were buying a home and are quoted a rate of 5.7%, would you, in the end accept a rate of 7.5%? I think not. You are not being rude if you "walk" when this happens.
Second, this is what I like to describe as my "shoe rule". You call a micro and are told that there are 4/5 girls working. You rush over and when you arrive all the girls are suddenly "busy" and the only one left is the plain, rather old one who answers the door. Look to the floor and if there are not 3 or 4 pairs of men's shoes, ask yourself if, maybe, the lady might be stretching the truth a little. Always walk.
I never feel guitly about leaving and refuse the request for any money because I "have taken up so much of their time". I will not reward a lie with my hard-earned money.
