I remember them.
They burned out almost immediately because they kept getting caught lip synching. It wasn't even close. I went to a Destiny's Child concert with an ex and Sugar Jones was one of the opening acts. As one of them was talking to the crowd, another song came on and you could hear the CD play. So the girls tried to jump into their positions for the next song.
They were boo'd for the rest of the performance.
yeah i remember i ran into one of them along time ago, and she was complaining about how ticket prices for this event i was going to was too high, thats when i know they got chipped on whatever contract they signed. Sugar Jones was just, a 1 album deal, with a 1 yr condo lease. Once the album was done and the lease was up... no one came to them to do a second album, or sign the group to a multi-album deal or anything like that. All the management dudes just got up and left. And the girls were left hanging asking "wtf just happened"?
It was like the equivalent of spending a lot of time with a girl, taking her on a date, then fucking her... putting your pants on, leaving the bedroom and never calling her again, never seeing her again, and denying that you ever knew the girl. It was that sudden.
at least we will always have that one song, well at least for me, i doubt anyone else remembers it.
