Any XBOX 360 Owners here? / London Drugs Return Policy

I just picked an XBOX 360 on the weekend, and I've already had to return one because of the dreaded "Ring of Death".

Any other XBOX 360 Owners here had a similar fate. Being a Halo geek, I'm worried that the constant use it will face will end up killing it.

Any tips? Should I get an inter-cooler?

Also anyone familiar with London Drugs return policy within 15 days of purchase? Especially pertaining to an Xbox 360?

Thanks...

Nobody does it better?"

But is that the case for Xbox 360's?

you're screwed.

i'm sure if you bitched enough the first time london drugs would honor their return policy. but if it continued they'd probably just throw your ass out of the store.

check out xbox 360's website. there are a lot of problems with the systems, and microsoft extended the warranty to three years, but you have to deal with all the shipping and stuff that's involved with it. my buddy is going through this nightmare right now.

so basically if you shipped off today for repairs, you might get it back in time for the halo 3 launch.

or you can poke around the xbox 360 hack forums. there are homebrew things you can do to get rid of the red ring, but i've never had to deal with it soooooooo i haven't really bothered reading up on it.

London Drugs took back the original one no questions asked. (Mind you that was considering the original lasted 2 days.)

Buy one of the newer 360s. They no longer have this problem and all 360s are now backed with a 3 year warranty.

Hold off buying one for now. The Xbox 360 is going to be going through a couple of improvements. The first improvement is the Premium will be getting HDMI built in. This is happening gradually now. Very soon the chip set is going to get the improved Falcon model. Basically the same chip but a lot smaller. SO it uses less electricity and is less likely to over heat (3 ring of death). The 360 is also supposed to be a little quieter while running also. Here is a link on how to spot what version of a Premium Xbox360 your getting.

Here is some info on that

It appears the Xbox 360 rumor mill is hard-partying once again, this time over the fairly sketchy information that in addition to the European price cut we mentioned earlier, the game system may be receiving a "changing of the guard" on the SKU front, with the dismissal of the Core system, and the inclusion of a new "Arcade" package. Word on Box Street is that Microsoft is about to upend the low-impact Core units, add an HDMI port, throw five free XBLA games in the mix, slap on a wireless controller, and put a new line of text somewhere on the box. Otherwise the system will remain the same -- AKA no hard drive, white finish, and a target of constant ridicule by your friends, and will be made available for €279 (or about $376). The whole thing makes you wonder if this could have something to do with that discontinued SKU rumor we keep hearing about in the US. Can't wait to find out? Join the club.

worked at London drugs a long time ago. Their return policy is legit as long as you have everything, the receipt and it's in perfect and even almost perfect condition.

I see you've returned it once, well it you do have problems again within the remaining 13 days you can still return it as I said. If you haven't bought an extended warranty {I know they use to sell them, you're definitely better off with a form of exchange warranty which I don't think they have but other places to sell such over the counter exchange warranties ie. EB games among others}

It's extra cash for an extended warranty but it gives extra coverage and after having my kid break his ps3 within the first two weeks and being able to exchange it... I was grateful I did buy the extended from EB.
