I try to sail as often as I can and this last January I went to the British Virgin Islands with a "special" lady ... for nine days we enjoyed each other ...

I have also sailed in Vancouver Bay with a couple of lovely ladies and had a great time ... I believe we all did.

The cost of a sailboat is a bit steep and was just wondering if any of you perberts are sailors and maybe wanted to split the cost of a days sail? The size I usually charter is between 33' and 40' out of Granville Island.

Non-sailors are cool too ... just need help with the lines ... lunch at Snug Cove and back. Total charter cost is around $500, add another $90 or so for staying on board the night before.

Any interest out there?

That's what I thinking about ... maybe with a lovely lady for the day! How's May 20th sound? I realize it's a Thursday but I'm not staying the weekend this time ... have a Catamaran certification course scheduled.

If interested please email me and I'll send you more info and my sailing background too.

hey, I might be interested in getting in on this if possible.... Sailed in the VI pre-injury, and have sailed by myself in a Sunbird adapted for people with disabilities. I realize the wheelchair wouldn't be much use on the boat, but it's not the first time I've scooted about on my butt!

Hey guys, I was hoping this might get some interest ... especially with some experience too (no at pooning, sailing). I can call tomorrow the sailing charter company I deal with and ask if I can reserved a boat for one day, with the night before. If not then they always have a good sized boat available but I just can't reserve one.

Some owners won't charter out their boat for one day but some will. Most of the sailboats have only two cabins but since I'm staying at the Granville Island hotel, I won't be needing one.

I am off to Boston tomorrow and will return late Wednesday evening (EST). If you are concerned about passing funds to someone you don't know, not to worry, I'm going sailing anyway, so I'll have something for May 20th.

Sound okay?

Here's the way the charter company works. Start time is 8:30 am and the boat must be back by 5 pm with the fuel filled. This means if we get the boat for the night before we can leave before 8:30 am, but usually the winds don't pick up until later in the morning.

I have been to Snug Cove a few times and on a nice day it's a very beautiful place for lunch. I even stayed over one at one of the waterfront cabins, complete with a fireplace. I supplied my own lady friend!

I will arrive in the early afternoon on Wednesday and be able to charter the boat for the evening and the next day... I have an account there so they know & trust me. The market opens early but lunch is great at Snug Cove overlooking the ferry docks.

Here's how the costs work out ... the charter is around $500 to $650 for the charter, GST, PST and all the other 'STs you have there. I will go sailing with a lovely lady friend and prefer others who go along also have a female partner ... no sharing on my boat. To be honest, I figured we just go sailing, have a nice lunch and return. The intimate part is completely optional, I am 52, at least until Tuesday, and I'm not a rabbit.

If the weather's bad, I'm staying in the hotel and making out!

At the "Y"
I had to give up sailing after an upclose and personal encounter with the boom. Wearing a baseball batting helmet to sea seems to amuse too many people, not to mention give me a crappy suntan.

dufferin ... wasn't planning to after I checked the daily weather ... odds are not good and I was in the mood to have some plans ...

I was lucky enough to have my "favorite" SP join me for the day, until around 4 pm. I haven't come up with any solid options to do ... was thinking of Grouse Mountain for lunch ...

Why, thinking about playing hookie? Maybe we can get a half day charter?

What's up?
