I've inquired with another service provider who IS actually 'certified' (but not an RMT) in massage. Certification does involve legit training. Registering as a massage therapist is a four year program in a legitimate college. Being certified and being registered are distinctly different in regards to how the law sees it. If a registered massage therapist (graduate from any B.C. registered massage college) sexualizes a massage session with their 'patient' they can/will lose their R.M.T. licence. I also understand that only a registered massage therapist may issue a receipt for insurance coverage. In all fairness there are service providers who can easily surpass the 'massage' techniques of a RMT. Their ability to connect with their clients and 'complete' a good healing massage is what makes them valuable, IMO.
