burrows is a RAT. the canucks have a long history of having RATS on their team; Cooke, Ruutu, Kesler (one of the dirtiest players in the league), Burrows, Bertuzzi - the list goes on.....

lols @ 40 years with no championships. can you spell 'mediocrity'?

lols @ all you canuck fans who can't even spell the players' names right.

and lols to all you who think I don't know anything about hockey. CLEARLY it's keeping me up at night.

*if* the sad-sack canucks even make the playoffs (I'll concede it looks likely) they'll once again be first-round fodder for whoever they play.

BJH, it's pretty pathetic that you're so desperate to find negative things to say about the Canucks that you've had to start quoting other internet trolls.

I guess even Tony G's columns are too positive for you to copy them, and claim them to be your own opinions now.

You should track down this Shabazz character. You two are both obviously lonely, miserable bastards. Maybe you could get together, grab the earlybird special at IHOP, watch a few Matlock reruns while sharing a pitcher of prune juice and laugh at how dumb all the Canuckleheads who despise you are.

Those of us who are fans of the team will be enjoying the game, and laughing at how dumb and pathetic douchebags like you are.

I think he just gets fed up with the braggadocio nature of Canuck fans...

as I do...

couple of questions...

why, when Sundin was with the Leafs, did everything Sundin and the Leafs suck...

however, as soon as he joins the Canucks, well he's a messiah and saviour...

does anybody remember Trevor Linden...

lastly, how do you like their chances in the playoffs...

I've never seen an educated fan use the term messiah or savior.
To me, he's a good top 6 forward. Which is what the team needed. He's nothing more than a one year filler, brought in to compliment the group that was already here.

As for the playoffs, they will probably lose in the second round. They don't match up well with San Jose, but they have been great against Detroit this year, so they could pull out an upset there. Definitely not a cup contender this year, but nobody expected them to be.

This was a good first year for Gillis, I like what he's building here. This is an exciting team and it's been a fun season. It's just too bad some people are so obsessed with being negative that they can't just enjoy the team for what it is.

The thing with Sundin is that we should NOT be looking for him to carry the team. We already went down that road before with Messier. We need him to make other players better (i.e. Kesler) and we need him to take pressure off the Sedin Line and to help on the power play. He is not here to lead (like an Iginla) and to kill penalties.

Also - before everyone starts planning the parade - despite the hot streak we were on - we are still behind Calgary and just caught up with Chicago. There are ups and downs to the season and we sure sucked earlier this year. Just like look at San Jose (injuries) and now with the bad defensive play of Calgary and Chicago. Things can turn on us too. If our penalty kill sucks again - teams like SJ and Detroit will have an easy time as their PP units are top notch.

Not just that - we have not done much in the playoffs (dating back to 94) so be realistic as the last thing you need is to lose the bet and end up sucking BJH's balls.

My take is that this is a vastly different team than last year, even more so than the year before. The truth is, nobody really knows what will happen with the Canucks in the play-offs, as they haven't been together as a team long enough to establish any kind of a pattern. That's what kind of makes it exciting, you never know what this team is going to do :p

By the way, nobody said Sundin was going to be the savior of the team. He was a needed addition, nothing more.

Problem with the Sundin thing is that there are typical fanatics who did look at him as the saviour and rightly so - given the amount of salary he is taking back. Pro-rated - he is the highest paid player on the team but is he worth more than Luongo? More than Kesler + Burrows + Edler + Wellwood combined?

Who knows - this is their one big shot at doing something. Everyone is motivated - everyone is health and hopefully - it will not be a repeat of years past.

Like I said before - until we do something in the playoffs . . . .

Braggadocio nature of Canucks fans? No more so than fans of virtually every other professional sports franchise in the world.

Says who? I'm still on the fence about Sundin personally. I didn't want him when the rumours were flying about the negotiations. Now that we've got him, I'm grudgingly admitting that he's been a good addition to the team, but there's no way that he's been playing as a superstar. I don't think he's worth his salary, but as has been pointed out to me, we had plenty of room under the cap, so I guess it's not really a big deal.
does anybody remember Trevor Linden...
Of course. I ran into him just last week. Class act. He's still my all-time favorite NHL player. He was never a superstar, but he was always a solid performer who was willing to give absolutely everything he had.
lastly, how do you like their chances in the playoffs...
Chances for the cup? Not bloody likely. I'd love it, of course, but there's not much chance of it. They should make it to the second round at least, and I'm hoping they'll go further...

AHAHAHAHA!

BJHunter's attempts to downplay the Canucks recent success is hilarious!

But really? What's the point of this thread? Who the fuck cares about what some meat head has to say? Oh well, whatever helps you sleep at night BJH! lol

Here's the thing about Canucklheads like Xerox & Hotac. they seem to forget on Soundin's first day here, they forgot to read the papers. Think the 24 free daily had Sundin 'inside' the Stanley Cup. And the Sun had an article on that too.

Yup, just raising and crushing the bandwagons' expectations. How cruel.

The media have been the one's pushing Sundin as "savior" etc, not the fans.
Most of my buddys, myself included didn't want him here either. I agree he's a total waste of money.

ohhh, you're going to upset the Swedish cocksuckers here, they cherish the swedes, esp. the Sisters! their excuse is that we have the cap space, so that means we can waste money and splurge on over the hill players..yup, at his rate, look at the way Sundin is invisible...just collecting his cash...wow, Gillis is so gullible

Do you actually read before you hit the submit reply button or just post

See, there you go again; instead of addressing the real issues, you have to make a chintzy remark about my typing skills. how lame-o. but hey, what do u expect from a stupid Canucklehead.

It may be borderline Knucklehead, but I'm sure you easily qualify for both categories ;) More on these categorizations later!

you obviously miss the point, which is typical of a bandwagon fan. You're a true fan? Really? In which category: Canucklehead or Knucklehead?

I quoted that Shabazz character to show that there are plenty out there, not just me. I'm just the most popular on perb. but you go read the comments in the province/sun online readers, there's plenty of canuck bandwagon bashing, they actually make me sound soft ;) Lotsa rednecks out there dude!

What if the Nucks did actually win the Cup this year BUT no one gets to rub BJH's nose in it coz he's been banned.

Talk about irony...
