So the last american troops have pulled out of Iraq, spending over 800 billion dollars in this theatre. Toss in 5,000 troops killed & no weapons of mass destruction ever found. 800 billion that's roughly 200x Jimmy Pattisons total wealth & about 800 billion more than my total wealth.
Throw in 30,000 injured troops, at it's peak there was 140,000 american troops in Iraq.Gotta wonder what kind of support has been given to all those who served over there?
That, and to add to your numbers over 100,000 Iraqis died as well. Soldiers, civilians killed by bombings, suicide and otherwise. What a waste. For what?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Oil, to rid the world of Saddam Hussien, WMDs, to safeguard the free world. Absolute bullshit. Think of all the people who died, directly or indirectly of the decisions made by a misinformed and evil (no other word that fits) bunch of American oil barons...and made all the while a crusade with propaganda and fed with fear. Sickening. Now there will be no peace for the next century or more in that land.
The actions of the administration that was in power, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc led to the deaths of 100's of thousands during this invasion, and will lead to more as the years go on. Nothing good, in view of the human cost was worth it.
800 billion must be a conservative amount. Wasn't it 2 trillion? I haven't looked it up, so I might be talking out of my ass about the amount of $$ spent....either way, what a waste. That administration ought to be held up for war crimes, crimes against humanity...seriously.
