I am tending to read the posts of new members under a cloak of caution and sometimes suspicion. I am wondering if others do that as well. It seems to me that when a new member comes on board and his first post is an attack on the reputation of a well reviewed successful independent I consider it very suspect. Also if I see that a new member attacks a girl from a specific agency and then immediately follows that another post soon after that post with a few really good words about a girl from a competing agency, it appears to me that the intention is to boost a new agency over an existing one that has been in a particular market for quite some while.

So my question is do some of the SP's who are attacked in such a manner by a newbie, or some of the Agencies attacked by a newbie wonder if the post is legit or consider it one of their competitors trying to steal business?

I often check the other posts by newbies and find that the four or so only posts they made attack one girl and boast greatly about the girl from the new agency. Then all of a sudden they fall off the map. I call them as I see them.

Oh and when I call a lie, don't throw your own girl under the bus when the lie has been revealed and try to divert attention away from the fact you are caught in a lie.

Happens all the time. In all types of industries. I look through Urbanspoon and see attacks on a new restaurant for bad service. Normally, it is from a user with zero reviews under their belt.

Here will not be any different. I like to read the reviews of some of the long term members on this board, like "oldfart" and others with avatars. Try do an advance search for a key word and user name.

Competition runs all ways. New girls in town get fake bookings by other providers. I've even seen on other sites really nasty stuff about girls I know are amazing, because one of the advertisers doesn't like her.

Yes, the posting history of a member needs to be considered. Someone who comes in guns a blazing on his first posts, and then nothing, means he has an ax to grind. Or its a shill if favorable for a provider that others have seen with less then stellar reviews.

I take the positives the same way. New member with long positive post generally just means advertising. And often a warning. If you can't provide your message in about a paragraph then something is up.

But it goes further too. Like the discussion about depression and blow jobs. Its advertising or information exchange however you care to look at it. But I think it's true so that's good.

I'm going to rush over to see one of them for sure.

A few years ago a local here in Winnipeg told me she made bogus appointments with touring ladies "to fuck them up".
She did not see anything wrong with it, in fact she said she was "just defending her turf". Another local said something similar.

Some guys hold grudges against certain ladies. Every time the lady gets mentioned they butt in and bitch about it.

Kudo's to you for keeping an eye on this quite frankly it never occurred to me there might be a problem. We should watch this because if it becomes to prevalent then the whole board loses its value because its no longer a reliable source.

I have talked with numerous traveling SPs and have heard the same thing about other providers making fake bookings with them when they come to town.

It results in no shows and a lot of her time being wasted causing her to lose possible appointments with legitimate clients which is rather sad.

It is honestly a form of bullying which is childish and rather spiteful.

Another observation is that the moderators do catch a few because the posters post from the same IP address. The ones they don't catch are clever enough to post from different computers and IPS. They are the ones that get through the cracks. But as I said if you check out a few of their posts there is sometimes a trend that can be detected. I do agree that some posters with long term input over a period of time are very reliable for information. Trouble is they can't review everyone no matter how they try :)

lower mainland.
as a newb myself, and observer and also a participant in other forums which are connected to my avocation, I can attest to the strains of sifting through the dross that is a forum.

Any forum.

There are the well seasoned contributors whom are a wealth of information (whom I perceive to be older…and by that i mean closer to my own age) and naturally there are the rebels whom portray a narrower focus and are quick to label others (reviewers vs. non reviewers for example) with their perception of what they say and read in addition to the silent majority and less vocal members..

I figure, 'hey, this is the internet. there's some good stuff here and garbage. my job is to glean the good, forget the rest. and finding along the way some interesting folks (advertisers, participants and hangers on all) that can make for interesting internet conversation.

and yes, interesting internet conversation is here. I'm grateful for the advertisers and mods that make this forum available to us all, whatever our individual purpose for being here.
