In the world of business we all know that fostering customer relationships is important and encouraged.

Have you ever taken a relationship with a female customer from business to monkey business?

If you have, how did it turn out?

There have been many situations where I've been tempted to further my business relationship. But, the consequences by far outweigh the moment of passion. That's why I POON.

With all the travelers out there haven't any of you gone to a conference, a meeting or even a specific business trip and found yourself in a position where you just had to 'do it'?

I have several times. Each time though I tell myself that it was the last but I have a very hard time with temptation (excuse the pun).

The one time that comes to memory as a positive experience was when I had a short fling with our HR VP who was on a break from her husband at the time or so she told me. Two months later there was an opening for a fairly senior position within the organization and I still think to this day I was rewarded for my (in)discretion.

Once it goes bad, then there goes that account! Didn't they make a Michael Douglas and Demi Moore film about that?

Hundreds of pooners out there and no one will admit to doing body shots with a client? Necking? More??

As an instructor for some of the stuff I do, I found that it was stupid to mix pleasure with business.

Yeah it was fun, but often people mistake your business personna as who you really are.

It always went sour and worse, it made the business awkward and eventually I lost the accounts.

I was warned long ago that the worst that can happen in this dynamic is that there is also the risk of a sexual harassment charge as I and my colleagues are in positions of authority.

My best advice, is if you want to bump uglies, make sure she is no longer a client and then all the luck to you.
