My Fellow Perb-o-maniacs,
I just wanted to take a moment to reflex on this most magical of moments in a man's life. The day of his 1000th post on Perb.

Oh, how the time has gone by. The flame wars we've had. The reveiws we've read and posted. The laughs, the tears, the joys, the sorrows.

I have observed some of the best and the worst of human behaviour on this forum. Pettiness and silliness. And other behaviour which can only be described as noble and virtuous.

I have made many friends, possibly even a few enemies. But, its always been entertaining and its always been lively.

At the end of the day, however, my life on Perb has been about one thing: The Ladies. Oh, the ladies I have met! Some of the most sweet, wonderful and sexiest women on the planet:

My Top Five (Katie, Rain, Tiffany, Julia, and Stephanie).
My Honourable Mentions.
The ladies of both BBC and Vic2Van.
And many, many others.

Thanks for a great time, you crazy Perbaholics, you. I will be graduating from university with my graduate degree in a few short weeks and will be leaving Vancouver and returning to the US. My two years here have been great fun. I love this city!!! It is, by far, the finest city I have ever lived in or visited. And I have lived in or visited all of the major citites in the US at one time or another. Vancouver beats them all!!!

Even after I leave Vancouver, I will check up on Perb on occasion, just to keep you people honest and thinking straight.

When I first joined this board, I never imagined that I would reach 1000 posts, but here I am.

Thanks for the fun. And remember, always remember:

Sex with beautiful and sex women is supposed to be fun! Let's get this party started!!!!

Now, which one of you fine ladies out there wants to be next? The American Male is waiting on YOU!!!!!

With 1,000 posts written on PERB, plus your other "extracurricular" activities, darned if I know how you had time to complete a graduate degree too. Mind you, I note you got to the 1,000 post mark ahead of finishing the degree. Apparently you have your priorities.

Congratulations

ps - is your grad degree in law enforcement??

An interesting quess, but no. My degree is in philosophy. I'm a pure academic and therefore, will not be contributing anything substantial to my community or nation. I hope to get a teaching position at a college or university. The smaller that college or university, the better.

Any leads for me to follow? :D

What you don't see in all of this are the many nights of staying up past 2 or 3 am in order to read an assignment or finish a paper or grade papers. My life is very small and fits neatly into three categories: all things at the university, all things concerning sex, and beer. Life is simple and manageable as a result.

Philosophers are all about creating categories for things.

The philosophy of home. Home is more than you think it is. Home is not only where you live, home dictates the way you live. The concept of home connects you to the people of your community, the things in your community.

Home is a manifestation of our desire to dwell and to build. Dwelling and building are primal urges for humanity. Those things which assist us in our desire to dwell and to build are seen as morally good. Those things which hinder dwelling and building are morally bad. Many problems within communities can be based in conflicting dwelling and building desires. Person A desires to dwell and build in a home in which promoting health is the major project (wants more hospitals and less cigarettes). Person B desires to dwell and build in a home in which personal freedom is promoted above all else. Person C desires....and on and on and on.

My New Concept of Home is about putting aside the personal dwelling and building projects in favour of meeting the needs of the community at large. In emphasizes putting the communities dwelling and building above my own dwelling and building, but not at the expense of my own dwelling and building.

This is a very condensed version of my work. It starts with the work of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger, but goes well beyond the work he initiated. Heidegger had little interest in ethics and that is the key conponent I add to his work in the formation of my own.

Best Wishes American Male! You will be great in all you endeavour.....:)

Thanks for the compliment, Julia, and I take it to heart. Being a person of greatness yourself, you obviously know what to look for in others. You know it when you see it.

And you, dear Julia, keep those 3 Smarties high nipples safe until my next visit.;)

congrats AM

1000 posts is good i guess, do you think the word count of PERB or your Dissertation is longer? Based on your long-winded-ness i am going with PERB. LOL, just kidding little guy, congrats and it will be sad to see you gone. Although all Americans living in Canada should be banished anyway.

There was an ancient Greek philosopher named Xeno who developed what is known as Xeno's Paradox. According to this paradox, the one who is ahead in a race at any given point, will always be ahead. If Xeno is right, Handy Floordoll, I will never catch you.

Personally, I think Xeno was a moron, but what do I know?
