25th birthday party ideas?

I thought the perb community might be able to help me out here :)

It's my 25th birthday at the end of July. Still 3 months away, but I'm trying to think of something cool and different to do. What I usually do on my birthday is just some sort of generic house party with 15-20 people, but I want my quarter-century to be a little more special.

Ideas?

I'm not into nightclubs, bowling, or karaoke.

And sadly, most of my friends are students or working low-paying jobs, so it can't be too crazy expensive.

Thanks! :)

Since you were born in the 80's, what about celebrating that with an 80s-themed party? Dressing up and making the playlist for that party would be half the fun!

Rent out the F440 go cart race track and spin around all day!
Might be a little pricey .. or a cruise boat around Vancouver ..

Rent a bus from Greyhound or Pacific Stage Lines, load in picnic trays and picnic on top of Grouse or at another scenic spot. You could also rent a bus and do a tour of the wineries in Langley.
Good idea, bad choice of bus. These guys are going to cost $500.00 more per day than one of the non-sched carriers.

i like *emmanuelle idea but you can also have do games like shot glass checkers or snakes and ladders where every time you go down a snake or up a ladder you take a shot. you can also do this with any type of game. you can get a good old game of old maid where if your caught you shoot or play some sort of gambling where you bet with shots where the winner gets every one who loses takes a shot. either way its going to be a night where you will need to take there keys and hide them so no one get the idea to drive. i have other ideas just hit me back

Cool ideas - keep them coming!

I do like the idea of 80s music because it could be fun and silly. Old school Madonna and other weird stuff like Men Without Hats :p

I was thinking of the washroom that Greyhound and Pacific Stage Lines have on their buses. The school buses you can charter don't have washrooms.
Guess what, I wasn't thinking of school buses either. :D

Other than Greyhound or Pacific Stage Lines, Ritz is the only one that I know of that has a bus with a lavatory, and Ritz isn't inexpensive http://www.ritzcoach.com/limobus.html
That looks like fun! Hmm...party bus..

(Although only the 48 passenger bus seems to have a restroom - I'd likely only have 15-20 guests, so I don't think I would splurge for the 48 person bus - thanks though!)

I have been to 70's and 60's parties and they were great, and the 80's would be hilarious (for us older folks!). Was at a bar recently in Kelowna and a group of females came in dressed in the 80's, aka 20 min workout, big hair, big glasses, leg warmers...very funny, even more so as it was a country bar!!

If you are looking for male strippers, I could be available...also cheap, but not easy!! :)

While it may be difficult to accommodate 20 people, here's something that's a ton of fun to do, if you like eating. It's BYOB, so saves some money, but you get great food for a reasonable cost $50/person.

You can google Vancouver underground restaurants and see if there are any others around that can handle more than 10 people.

Here's a couple review of Chef Todd's underground restaurant:

Ooh, that looks really cool! I am a big foodie, so that appeals to me :)

Might not work out for this event, but I'll keep it in mind for future smaller gatherings. Super interesting. Thanks for the link!
